Seriously, make them a goal, but understand that for most guys, losing enough fat to get that supercut look takes its toll. Go for hard and firm abs, and then decide if you want to do what it takes to get ripped.

It's only as Meg has gotten grown that I've seen *her* resemblance to me... most of it is in the facial bone structure, with a bit of the mouth as well... I cut out a lot of the sugar by using Splenda instead, and drinking softdrinks sweetened with Splenda instead of Cokes, cut back a little on other treats, a few carbs, etc., and am trying to be more active. (Also have some Splenda sweetened ice cream bars, etc. now for that craving.) It took around 3 months, I guess, to drop 20 lbs. I really took in too much sugar before (coffee and sodas, mainly), so it's good for me in other ways too. (I've always drunk a lot of water, so that wasn't an issue.)

And I would have posted some great pics of DB myself, but they are on a disc somewhere... sigh. Office is still unorganized.

I posted the first one on the old boards, but I trimmed my goattee back some to show how I look now rather than the hairy mess it was before. Quite the drastic differences in looks, huh?

The other two come from a friend's recent bachelor party. I was caught with my eyes closed and laughing in the first shot. The next one is more goofiness. I don't smoke, but just took a picture of a friend with his pipe and thought I'd get one with me smoking the pipe too. I'm all dignified in it. And really red-faced from putting wood in the fire. People were getting freaked out, while laughing, because it looked to them as if I was standing directly in the center of the fire. Yeah, I'm sure the alcohol had nothing to do with their perception either.

Why thank you! Yes, we're a very smiley family. That's why I post so many :) :D ;) ---it's second nature to smile, even through the keyboard (hee hee).

It's funny---I never realized how much I tend to smile, until something that happened at several different jobs: I'd go in one day and maybe be thinking about serious stuff, or concentrating, and not be smiling... and I'd have several people asking me if I'm angry, if I feel okay, am I coming down with something? When I'd reply (puzzled), "no, why?" they'd say: because you aren't smiling.

So I guess I do smile a lot. So do the girls. Heh.
