Also, here's a pic of me debating one of the Constitutional Franmers at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia (which is very cool and mandatory stop if you ever make it to Philly). She'll be glad to hear she doesn't look pregnant, as I know she is not feeling like herself. We (and when I say 'we', I actually mean 'me' in this case) found this great little turquoise maternity dress at H&M (don't think you have it in the US yet) for $25. It will stretch as the baby gets bigger.

I shaved off the facial hair. Nuffin' but eyebrows remain. Those with weak constitutions, please exit the theater.
This is kind of a big deal because I actually used a razor (something I only do once a year, at best). I'm trying a different technique in the hopes that I'll end up with a closer shave and can leave the electric clippers alone, for a while.

Woa ok..wow.How does your face feel when the wind hits it.
I stopped using electrics about a decade ago because I could never get a close a shave as i could with a razor. Its probab;y worth looking at a shaving website to look up techniques to avoid the dreaded shaving bumps that us black guys are good at getting.

Those bumps are exactly why I used electric clippers for so long. I'd try, maybe once a year, to use a razor. While it WAS smoother, it was usually followed by a message saying, "This face will self destruct in seven days." I always felt stupid because I kept trying and kept getting burned (npi).
This time I got some bumps but I think that was because I didn't do what I did the day AFTER the bumps showed up... I need to put a hot, moist towel on my face to soften the hair (and probably the skin, as well). If I do that and shave down (and apparently down and diagonally), it seems that I don't get the bumps. Also, my girlfriend has been stressing exfoiliating (it's early... dunno if I've spelled ANY of these words correctly) so that may have helped, too.
I even followed the scary-ass directions I've heard about shaving EVERY DAY to avoid the bumps. Altogether, it seems to be working, as teh bumps I HAVE are going away.
Any tips?
EDIT: Oh yeah, the wind... COLD. In fact, kissing is an almost entirely new experience for me now that the facial hair is gone due to a closer shave. But yeah, just walking about I'll find that my chin and that area between the nose and top lip... gets really chilly. It's an odd place to get feel chilly, but it always happens when I shave my head or face after going a long time with hair.
Also, why "wow?"

As a white guy with curly hair, I get the dreaded bumps when I shave close too. The only thing that works for me is to shave in the direction of the way your beard grows - generally down the face. The problem is, it doesn't give you a very close shave. Since I'm white with a very dark beard, I have a "Homer Simpson beard line" on my face even after a shave. Hence - the reason I usually have a beard too.
BTW you look really young sans 'stache.

The problem is, it doesn't give you a very close shave. Since my hair grows in different directions, I end up with patches of unshaven hair. That's why I started the diagonal shaving (which, I saw in commercials). The patches are there, but they're less noticeable, now.
Since I'm white with a very dark beard, I have a "Homer Simpson beard line" on my face even after a shave. Hence - the reason I usually have a beard too. Y'know, that beard line look works for some people. Personally, I thought you were one of them.

Wow because it took me by surprise and you do look younger.
I like to shave after a hot bath, when the steam has really relaxed and permeated my hair/skin. I use a Gillette Mach 3 blade which has really given me the closest shave I ever had. I was also advised to rinse my face in cold water.
I've also started using Thursday Plantation tea Tree Antiseptic Cream (http://www.thursdayplantation.com/Product%20Sites/Antisepticcream125ml.htm) as a balm afterwards.
lately though I've been considering getting a cutthroat razor and learning how to do that

I'm glad I did, though, because the two products I was trying to decide between were BOTH WRONG.

The lovely girl next to me in the picture is a friend from school (but she has a girlfriend). If I remember correctly (my memory's a lil' fuzzy from the drink, I could be mixing this up with another night of drunken debauchery) I spent the night trying to get closer to a Heather Graham look-alike. At one point, I did find myself alone in a bathroom with her (the door wouldn't lock and I was holding it closed for her and trying to peep her fantastic body without appearing to be too much of a perv), and then she asked me if I knew where she could get some coke (not the cola variety), and that ruined it for me. :( So, I got no love that night. Actually, I'm working on a five month dry spell now. All that cuteness and a portion of my prime reproductive years being wasted! WASTED! Damn my standards and morals. *sigh*

No, it would make me too sad.

yes i have sensitive skin and because of this i only shave once a week. I don't have razor bumps luckily enough, though whether this is due to moisturiser or only shaving once a week i really don't know, but i'd imagine a combination of the two. plus i can live with being a little bit grizzly adams for a couple of days so long as its like a babys butt (thats smooth not shitty folks) come the weekend. I seem to remember that razor bumps are caused by ingrowing hair, which happens when you shave too often.

I've had a beard for the last 5 years, and my wife like how I look with it more than how I look without. I agree. Without it, I look at least 5 years younger (I'm 27). As for...you know...I keep my beard trimmed at a #2, which is definitely not long enough to call it a Grizzly Adams beard, and therefore occasionally pokes her when we kiss. That's the only complaint I've gotten, though.

I loved doing the field shows and if anyone doesn't think band's a work out, you put on 14 pounds of wool, 30 pounds of brass, a 2 foot tall hat and run the length of a football field with your feet going one direction your body pointed another, blowing air through the damn thing and then do it for 6 hours staight on your saturdays and 3 hours straight every wednesday night. Wasn't as bad as football in some ways, but it was worse in other ways.

I did, but eventually I decided I had more fun in the band. I played tuba for 9 years and marched for 6 years. Marched in two rose parades and one gatorbowl.
I would've figured you to be in the color gaurd so you could throw rifles.
That was a joke.
I was in marching band myself. Did a Rose Parade, King Kamehameha Day parade (in HA), and a few Indy 500 parades. Indiana State Champs my senior year too. It's funny, I'm still a musician but what I do is FAR from marching. Yet that's where I got my start.

Your pic on the Great Wall was sweet too. I've always wanted to see that.
Actually that picture is on the bridge where the Sino-Japanese War began, that's the start of the Second Wolrd War in the Pacific theater. That was in 1937 I believe, two years for Europe started in on each other. I had another pic on the great wall but it doesn't look as good.

The guy who took the photo wanted it as a study in contrasts, though I can't see it myself.

That's a very accurate assessment, actually, as my facial hair is usually present due to me being too lazy to shave. I also don't have much of a chin, and a little stubble helps me out there, giving definition. I think I look best with stubble and short hair.
