Okay, after 11 hours of sleep, I'm back.
Wow, did I actually post that?
Apologies all around. Obviously I didn't mean that women who read comics are ugly (I'm digging the hole deeper, aren't I?). I see women and girls in the comics store every once in a while, and they also defy the stereotype too. (That's "too", as in "like Kristen and Morna and Lena and Puma and Smoogis and Rallura and all the women here".)
I'm not sure where the stereotype comes from, but I was clearly mistaken.
Now please, don't hurt me.
DOn't worry about it :)

Boy, are YOU going to the wrong comic book shops.
Um.
Not that it'd really matter to you either way, I guess.
Anyway, seriously, most of the women we get at the store where I work are attractive, and we get quite a few through the door.
It's quite easy. You just have to remember a few key items:
(1) Stock more than just hyperthyroid fightguy adventures.
(2) Don't assume if she's here she's buying stuff for her boyfriend.
(3) Try not to have the place look like some sweat-stained hole-in-the-wall, and lastly,
(4) Don't treat female customers as though they're some sort of museum display. You're not in a Motley Crue video and she's not gonna start pole dancing any second. Put the tongue away, junior, you're creeping everyone out.
Easy peasy.

I wish. I keep most of my extra poundage in my gut, the picture's taken at an odd angle that hides the double chin, and that thin wrist is helping too.
I should really get on that, though. I'm afraid I might get kicked out of the club if I don't join a gym or something and get in shape soon.

It's not the best picture of me because I'm making a bit of a weird face due to the character I was playing. I was the father of the other guy's character, and I was explaining, in an odd pseudo-Southern yet elegant accent, that I had built him a rocket ship in our backyard so he could wave to me from the porthole window as he flew through space because I was going to be dead soon and in Heaven.
I'm wondering why no one told me someone grafted Popeye's forearms onto me when I wasn't looking.

Let's be fucking serious for a minute. This isn't a community for genetically perfect pod people, supermodels and pornstars.
We're a bunch of nerds who like to talk about comics.
That said, shit what the fuck are your standards for 'beauty'.
On a purely aesthetic level, I'm not seeing any ugly people here. I mean, shit, I'm not seeing any Elephant Men, or mutants, or monsters.
Yeah, there may be some people here who (fuck, myself included) are carrying a few surplus pounds.
And maybe some of us have made a dodgy decision or two regarding style choices (He says wearing a dog dick ugly Hawaiian shirt).
But when the fuck did that make a person 'goddamn ugly' or 'monstrous'?
I'm also seeing people with kind eyes, pleasant smiles, honest laughter, open faces free of the sort of bullshit artifice some folks might associate with 'beauty'.
So yeah, if that ain't enough then you might wanna haul your punk arse back to Stepford or Midwich or wherever they vat grow judgmental motherfuckers.
Give my regards to the 'beautiful people'.
