Almost 6'.
My daughter, who will be 6 in October, is already 4'2". I went on one of those height predictor sites and they've got her at 6'0". And my son, who turned 4 in May, is 3'6". The height predictor puts him at 5'11", but I think they're on crack. My younger brother was built like my son and started out fairly average in height, then shot up in high school and is now 6'10".
Those height predictor "things" are like a bell curve . . if you fall outside the cruve or closer to the fringe they don't apply.
My daughter was predicted to be 5'9, she was a very tall toddler . .but she's leveled off at 5'6. She may make 5'7.
My son is predicted ot ve my height . . 6'4 . . and he's tracking with my growth chart, although he's actually thinner than me . . and I was a stick. I'm still relatively thin . . 185 / 190 pounds.
Oh, and to stay on topic, my 14 year old daughter was baptized a week or so ago. Out church has a cool tradition of fathers (or mothers) getting inot the pool or bapistry. It was a public confession of her faith (similar to confirmation for you Catholic folks). I'm getting really gray and bald.

That's a great pic.
As for the gray and bald thing, I'm with you, my brother. Went to get my haircut yesterday and noticed a) lots of gray in the clippings and b) when the barber showed me that back that it was pretty easy to see the scalp.
Ah, well. Such is life. As I told my wife, as the hair starts to go, I'm just going to get it cut shorter and shorter until I go the full Picard.

Nice pic. (we still haven't gotten our little guy baptized! Doh!)
I don't have any gray yet, but I started going bald early. I just shaved it off and have tried to have hair a couple of times since, but it just doesn't look good at all. I'm sure that I'll be completly bald on the top, naturally, by the time I'm 40.

One side is thicker than the other. Normally I care nothing about fashion, but I realise I'm psychologically more comfortable when my face is symmetric. It disturbs me.
The same goes for my beard. The left side grows at a faster rate than the right.
haha, the right side of my beard kind of grows towards my ears, and the right side kind of grows towards my face. assymetrical beards ftw!

Well, it was eight stages with 130 bands playing over the course of three days. So, yeah, some decent people playing. One of my favorite shows was by Kaiser Chiefs. They did more than just play their music on stage, like a lot of others did, and actually put on a show. Lots of energy from them. Arcade Fire put on a good show too. Bjork's show was interesting if just for the cool instruments used.

Wah.
My wife is about your height, EL. She has similar problems with clothes. My mom, too. My mom is about 5'11". Shoes are always a problem, as are finding pants that are long enough and yet slim enough in the waist to fit. I've told them both that they should start designing clothes to fit taller women. That's my excuse too.
For what it's worth, my dad is about 3-5 inches taller than Doug Jones, which makes him [dad] about 6'8". I'm 6'0 even.
Suffice to say, it was very awkward in school being taller than everyone (and absolutely hating athletics. Never was good at sports, never wanted to be good either). . . . .
We have friends that have a daughter that's 6'4. When she enrolled in college, they introduced her to the basketball coach . . the poor girl couldn't catch a basketball let alone shoot one.

You know, it really is a ridiculous notion that because a person is tall, naturally they like to play basketball. Personally, I do like to play basketball (and football), but it gets very tiring to hear from people, even today at age 40, the question "do you play basketball?"
I'm, like, old and junk. Do people seriously believe that I only work at a law firm as my "day job" and moonlight as a shooting guard for the Orlando Magic?
I mean, not that I'd turn that arrangement down, but it would be nice for people to engage their brains before speaking. At least once in awhile.

I got that, and I wasn't excessively tall (6'2") in high school. But we didn't have any giants in the area. My son Nate is forever having dads and coaches wanting him to play basketball. He hates it and has zero talent for the sport. Out of water he's a major klutz. He's just barely coordinated enough to play O-Line in football...which is his true love.

Wah.
Yeah, and I bet your have narrow feet, which probably makes it more difficult.
I just suck the marrow out. Mmmm-mmm. Good eatin'.
My wife is about your height, EL. She has similar problems with clothes. My mom, too. My mom is about 5'11". Shoes are always a problem, as are finding pants that are long enough and yet slim enough in the waist to fit. I've told them both that they should start designing clothes to fit taller women. There's probably a pretty good market niche there, as women today are much taller than even 20 years ago.
My boss is nearly 6' and incredibly thin. She has to shop at special boutiques, but she does enjoy going to fashion shows because she can actually fit into the clothes that the runway models are displaying.

Had I been smarter, I would have stuck with football. I was a pretty good basketball player. Decent shot from about 15' and in. Good rebounder, good D. But I'm slow, not a great jumper and, at the college level, not exceptionally tall. I got looks from some lower-tier Division I schools and lots of Division II schools, but I wasn't really that interested. I played in England for a year, but I just wasn't good enough to play Division I.
In football, however, 6'7" isn't out of line for an offensive lineman or tight end anymore and I probably could have played at a high level, had I stuck with it, since I had good feet for an offensive lineman and good hands from playing basketball for so many years.

So, considering that, my height of 6'7" doesn't seem unusual.
I'm 5'5" and I work with a guy who's 6'5". I literally have to watch out for getting elbowed in the head and I learned early that when I can't find things they are on the top shelf.
We have friends that have a daughter that's 6'4. When she enrolled in college, they introduced her to the basketball coach . . the poor girl couldn't catch a basketball let alone shoot one.
I know a woman who is 6'3" who grew up in a fishing village in Labrador. When she went to university they tried to put her on the basketball team but she had never even stepped foot in a gymnasium before.

i've never been fortunate enough to know a woman who could name at least1 of the fantastic four by name. (rock guy, stretch dude, flame man, and that girl that turns invisible doesn't count) lol. seriously, i think it's cool that you're into comics and i wish i knew more girls like you! in all honesty, i think i'm the only one of my friends that would ever get in an argument over who's more of a badass, hulk or thor (hulk, btw, being the obvious answer)

You are one smoooooth talker, Mr. Algren.
He's gay and complimenting a woman's looks. How smooth does he need to talk?

Really? It's pretty easy. Reed chose names fitting to their powers.
Johnny's human and lights up like a torch, ergo Human Torch.
Sue's a girl who turns invisble: Invisible Girl.
Ben's a rock-like thing, thus Thing.
Reed stretches, so Mr. Fantastic.

I like the last one and how it applies to women remembering their names.
I'm juvenile sometimes.

To be frank, it's because you look quite hot in that picture. Yes, I could have said you're attractive or nice looking, but I went with hot.
You look like you're out at a bar or at a party. New Year's Eve picture?
Thank you :o
And yes, it's a party.

(No disrespect intended to anybody either painful or non-painful to look at. This is coming off as harsh because I'm too tired to figure out how to phrase it right. Sorry.)
Wow, did I actually post that?

Hi Kristen, hi Chris. Say, who're you guys talking to? I only hear a mousey fartin' in the void.Apologies all around. Obviously I didn't mean that women who read comics are ugly (I'm digging the hole deeper, aren't I?). I see women and girls in the comics store every once in a while, and they also defy the stereotype too. (That's "too", as in "like Kristen and Morna and Lena and Puma and Smoogis and Rallura and all the women here".)
I'm not sure where the stereotype comes from, but I was clearly mistaken.
Now please, don't hurt me.

Dude...honestly I kind of share your outlook. For the most part the few women I saw in comic shops were dragged by boyfriend/friends. The ones who tended to come on their own usually....well they were pretty frumpy and/or large and some time certifiable. There are always exceptions of course.
I haven't worked at a shop or convention since '99 and quit going to them not long after. Maybe now there are tons of hotties sliding into the shop. I kind of doubt it though. But then again..i'm in michigan...not Cali or NY.
Before I get led to stake....I actually like the kind of women most dont. Bring on the nerdy, chunky, scarred and poindexter glasses. Thora Birch in Ghost World anyone.

Agreed.
I mean, I don't pride myself on my looks and nor do I want to use my looks to impress people.
Now you know why I don't post pictures of my self often, if at all. =/
