The next is me in a cowboy hat, doing what I do best.

After that, I am getting drunk again, except this time, at an Adrian Tomine signing. Joe and I got relatively rowdy, and made poor Grant so nervous he could barely look us in the eyes.

The last is me getting my beard fondled by some chick in a bar. I had a beard in those days. The pic was taken by Austin's cell phone. I think it turned out pretty good considering. The beard left me with a rash.

Yeah, I know. It was sort of last minute so I got the top at walmart after looking 3 other places for just about anything underwire. They didn't have any bottoms that matched so I just got a blue that went with some of the lines in the pattern, and the 'rents were in a hurry 'cause we'd again looked 3 places so I didn't even try em on, so they were a little tight which made my pudge pudge :(

I don't mind... I'm caucasian, but with a polyglot background. Closest relative of "pure" blood was my grand grandfather---Irish. But there's also some French Heugonot (sp?), Welsh, German, Cherokee, and likely Scots in there as well. Plus, much more I'm sure that the family isn't aware of...

I've been told (when I had long hair---natural color is dark brown) that I look Hispanic, Native American, Indian, Arabic, and once, Russian. To me, those are compliments---I enjoy looking like people from different races/cultures. I think it's cool.

I wondered if anybody would notice that... the grill, I mean. Hee. Ooo, that reminds me: I gotta get Meg to help me haul the old grill down to the curb tonight. Either trash or a neighbor will take it, I'm sure. It still runs, just not very well (the orig. owner purposefully left it to us, not wanting to put a greasy grill in their moving truck). The one behind me is the newer one we bought a few months ago.

Nah, not guts... just, I am who I am. And to be completely honest, I enjoy getting a little praise for how I look, after all the hard work I've done to improve my physical form. The reality is, I pick out the very best of the pictures taken, and even then, in my head I still nit-pick over things about myself that bother me, like the pregnancy legacies of loose skin and stretchmarks on my tummy, the "saddlebags" on my upper thighs and extra weight in my ass that just won't seem to go away, etc. And I really don't photograph well---for every 3-4 pics Troy takes, I might post *one*, because in the others I don't like the angle, it emphasizes something I'm still working on, I have a dumb expression, etc.

I'm still very self-critical at times, even though I try to fight it. One way that helps is hearing, "hey, you look good!" from other people---helps me remember I'm my own worst critic.

But as for the thong thing... *shrug* I happen to think they're usually more flattering than a regular suit bottom (especially if you've got some extra weight there). I don't feel, and never have felt, "undressed" in a thong, because the "essentials" are still covered up. I'd feel much more undressed wearing pasties, tbh.

EDIT: Oh, and iwarrior, I appreciate you keeping the apparently truly embarassing thoughts to yourself---shows you have class. I don't mind you admitting they're there (that's natural)... just don't want to know what they are. :)

Hate those suits... sorry, Pengy. And thanks! Now that I've gotten most of the blonde cut out of my hair, the rest looks better. (The blue on the blonde would fade to turquoise very quickly.) Funny thing is, it gets a silvery blue cast very quickly, because now I've got a fair amount of gray in my hair, and the gray doesn't hold the color as well... so it gets to a blue-silver mix. I kinda like it. Troy does too.

he'll be there. i don't think he's missed a dragoncon in YEARS. we absolutely love to admire all of the hardwork and enthusiasm of the fans when they come into the convention with their awesome costumes and positive spirits.

i can say that dragoncon is probably my favorite con for those very reasons. everyone has a great time and they're always so nice.
