You look like you should be wearing a tennis shirt with a sweater tied around your waist.
I'm silly I know, but that was my first impression. Sort of prep. Maybe it's the smile.

Actually, I kind of felt a little like "Woodrow"--Ms. Crabapple's fictious love interest on the Simpson, when I first saw it. That's kind of the way they drew him on Bart's baseball card.
I've never been a good dresser; and my hair is just sort of "lumpy"--I'm not sure how else to say it.

This is actually the only forum I'm on that doesn't allow pictures in sigs, which I thought was sort of odd.
I can see how without sig rules they can be annoying, but generally if kept somewhat small (400x200 or 500x100, one pic only) it tends to not be very obtrusive.

It was called "Ice Cave Mountain" up until a few years ago. In Ellensville, NY. Now I think it's just called "Sam's Point;" in honor of a settler that literally ran off the side of a mountain to escape hostile natives. He landed in a tree supposedly.
Very beautiful in Autumn.

* Konglin is Confucius' burial site. Not only is Confucius himself buried there, but also all his descendants as well. There are more than 100,000 graves in that forest, and some as new as last year. It might seem creepy to be in a graveyard, but it's really quite peaceful. If anything is a symbol of life, standing in a place with 100,000 graves -- all having been the result of one man's loins -- is it.

My good half (me at Konglin* posing like one of the oh so many Euro-models they have in advertising over here):
I thought you were Chinese. How did you end up in China?
My better half (my wife on the way back from out little trip):
She's very pretty.

Goatee looks good, in spite of the Rice objection.
You look like you've lost weight, or something.

Oh no! This isn't a Seinfeld-like "Donna Chang" moment, is it?! ;)
Just the luck of the draw. I'm drawn to being in foreign countries and teaching. Ended up here of all places. I truly wonder sometimes exactly how I ended up here.
She's very pretty.
Thanks. :D She'll love to hear that. Next, really make her day and say she looks young (despite being *cough, cough* my senior :evilsmile ).

While leaving the beach, our car broke down. The alternator burned itself out. We were stranded in 100+ degree heat.
We broke out our ice cold watermelon from the cooler. Slices of juicy red melon were offered to any passersby. All the mechanics appreciated the treat.
My friend took this picture. I think it's my best photo. ever.

Damn, 112 pages? Anyone think we should start a new thread? At least that way, people wouldn't have wade through almost 500 different posts and posters can update images of themselves.
Anyway, here are two pictures of me. The first one is a shot of a sadly sunburned me at the Austin City Limits Festival last September.

This one is a cool, fast-motion picture of me during my improv class graduation show. In it, I'm ending a scene by acting as an angry Ethiopian throwing a rock at the police because they're trying to take my hot dogs away. It made sense in the scene.

There's probably some deep-rooted primitive reason like a reflection of testosterone, which -- in turn -- would have some bearing on his ability to procreate as well as provide (read, hunting) for his offspring. :) Ya know, something like that anyway.

Aside from the cultural connotations, it defines the facial features (cheekbones, jawline, etc...) in the same way that make-up does.
I guess.

I don't know. My wife likes the bearded look too.
I shaved mine off though. It was getting gray in patches (rather than the old salt and pepper thing) and it looked uneven and ugly. The gray areas looked like patches where I didn't have any beard - or open skin. So I gave it up until 5-10 years down the road when it turns completely gray, then I'll probably grow it back.
