Seriously, now that PAD is back on the title, is it worth it for someone like me, who hasnt read it for more than two or three issues at a time, to give the title another shot? I wrote in the other thread about how I always liked the concept, but each time I pick up an issue it truly fails to impress me.
So, do you think this new PAD run is a good jumping on point? Do you think it has enough to hook me as a non-Hulk reader? I know this is that Hulk forum, but I would appreciate actual responses outside of 'HULK RULZ!!1!" :p

I think if you try out the current Incredible issues you will find them quite good. Will they wow you? That I'm not so sure about.
Peter David definitely knows how to write the Hulk. If you liked any of his previous run then I'm pretty sure you'll like what's happening now. Chances are there won't be any shocking stories happening in PAD's Hulk like other books (Amazing Spider-man Sins Past) only really good Hulk stories. They're worth my money.

I honestly don't know. I have read only 77 so far, though. I'm saying this because, however, I did read all of his previous Hulk run.
Since you never followed the title for any significant amount of time, my advice to you is to invest in the upcoming Hulk Essential and in the Peter David/Mac Farlane trade that came out last month. They should warm you to the concept, and then you could approach the ongoing title with more interest.

He hasn't said exactly, there was a story out that basically said if his first arc sold well there would be talks, but I'm not sure.If they had any sense he'd be signed to write for at least four years........

He's confirmed for ATLEAST the rest of 2005. Then if sales are good he'll stay on. In a couple of weeks, the sales numbers will be out for his first issue (77) and we'll be able to get our first idea of how well fans are supporting him.

I jumped on with Issue 77 and I'm not having a problem following it... well, not anymore than any one else since no one seems to know exactly what's going on. I haven't read a lot of the Hulk before, so I don't know the whole history, but I have some back issues that I read and I like how PAD writes, so I picked this up. LIke someone else said, I don't know that this story will blow you away, it's not blowing me away, but I like it so far, I want to know where it's going.
I don't really care for trade or graphic novels, so I just jumped right in because that works best for me. And I like having individual issues. So I would say you could do the same if you want to. But that's mostly my personal preference.

I'm really enjoying PAD's first new arc on the book, so I'd say check it out, Fever. Only two issues are out so far, so it shouldn't break the bank.
It's got more usage of the Hulk than the Jones run and brings back alot of the interaction and conflict between Hulk and Banner that we haven't seen in a long time.
Oh yeah, and giant monsters! :)

I'm really liking this so far, but I did read the older stuff about ten years ago.
This arc so far reads almost like a magnus opum from PAD, but if he is sticking around, it should be interesting.

Yeah, I got the two issues and really liked them. Its weird because Hulk is getting next to no press, yet I liked it more than the Captain America issues I bought the same day(1-3) and that book is being praised left and right. Not trying to knock Cap, just saying that I feel like Hulk should be getting more of a push from Marvel.
The artwork was great, I really like the way Hulk is drawn, its more monster-like. I always felt that the Hulk shouldnt be a Big Buff Dude, but more of a freak, because Banner isnt supposed to like turning into him, hes supposed to represent all his inner rage, so the monster look works better in my opinion.
The story may not have had any "ohmygod" moments, but it definetly has me intrigued, and I cant wait to see whats up with the Grey Hulk. Also, the fact that the Hulk seems fairly intelligent, and that Banner can change into him at will, are both things which I like in the character. Savage Hulk is cool and all, but I like to see some evolution, and its perfectly illustrated in issue no. 2 when the two Hulks face off.

Totally, this new arc has multiple Hulk incarnations, tons of fighting with big bruisers, and suspense boiling storyline....oh and sick art. With all that why not praise the sole (why God why?) Hulk title currently written by the man! Peter David! :D

I am also really enjoying this series. I never really collected Hulk, but I've always bought the single issues that I enjoyed. But this run may change that. If it continues to be as good as this, then the Hulk is going into my file at the store for the very first time.
As far as Marvel not really supporting it, I'm not surprised. The way the Hulk is right now it is totally old school; lots of action in every issue, and yet still continueing with an intriguing plot line, as well as super villains, and the wonders of Monster Island. Marvel seems to only support Bendis-type material that is, for some reason, considered "cutting edge", and "hype" to read.

Does anyone know if PAD will revive some of his characters back from his first run, such as Trauma? Or even my guilty pleasure, the Pantheon?

PETER DAVID RULZ!
Ok, seriously...the current run is worth your time and money...very well written and solid...like someone else mentioned...nothing world-shattering or groundbreaking, but David knows his hulk.

Always loved PAD Hulks as much as the real Hulk(Stan Lee, Len Wein, Bill Mantlo,...). Maybe even more.
