Starting in August 2005, Pocket Books will be publishing a series of Hellboy novels. The first four are in progress. They are:

August 2005
HELLBOY: ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HELL by Brian Hodge

January 2006
HELLBOY: THE NEW ARK by Tim Lebbon

August 2006
HELLBOY: THE GOD MACHINE by Thomas E. Sniegoski

January 2007
HELLBOY: THE DRAGON POOL by yers truly.

I'm serving as an editorial consultant on this project, and I can tell you that each of the stories is very cool, and each is very different from the others.

Indeed, Tad. Mike's doing covers for all of the books.

And will they be littered (in a good way) with illustrations within as well?

Hoo boy. Stuff are scheduled all the way to next year, till 2007 for a book by Chris Golden?!
Jeez. You oldies aren't kidding that a HB fan need to practice patience, but the comics would probably make up for it. :)

Wow, great news. I look forward to everything. Especially more Mike art and Chris writing. Dakini is one of my favorite Hellboy tales.

Yay! There'll be more Hellboy books as well as comics. As much as I love comics, I'll always be a bookworm first. Thanks very much for the info, Mr. Golden!

...and new Hellboy comics. :) *bounces in eagerness*

'Case anyone was wondering what "The Man with the Screaming
Brain" will be about, here is a blurb from Diamond Previews:
"MAN WITH THE SCREAMING BRAIN #1
by Bruce Campbell, David Goodman, Rick Remender & Hilary Barta

B-movie megastar Bruce Campbell, star of Evil Dead, Army of Darkness, Bubba Ho-Tep, and The Adventures of Brisco County Jr., comes to comics with this adaptation of his upcoming feature film. Man with the Screaming Brain tells the story of a wealthy American businessman determined to exploit the crippled economy of a former Soviet state now torn between communist roots and capitalist greed. Campbell's character hits on the wrong gypsy girl and lands in the grip of a mad scientist determined to get rich off a twisted brain-transplant scheme worthy of Dr. Frankenstein.

FC, 32pgs..........$2.99"
Thanks for the update, Lady J. Thank you, also, CGolden. Books by you and
Tom and Tim and Brian should ROCK!
(Otto weeps softly as no mention of a Lobster Johnson story is to be found in the updates)

im worrying about if there will be cbr :(~~

To my knowledge, Hellboy comics are not licensed to any CBR or CBZ formats.

(For people confused by the CBR abbreviation, CBR is a RAR compression file-- like a ZIP or SIT. The poster is not referring to ComicBookResources.com when he wrote about CBR.)

It's in script as a series on SciFi Channel.
