There was a similar thread before the crash, and while there are existing threads on recent concerts and this past summer's concerts, there isn't one for posters to list all the shows they've ever seen.

So who have you seen? Where and when? Which were the best and worst?
_________________________________________

The Pursuit Of HappinessTha Canadian band, with Moe Berg? "I'm an Adult Now", etc.?

Or do you guys have a Pursuit of Happiness, too?

I've seen Sigur Ros and that was probably the best concert I've ever been to.

Close behind them would be Radiohead and the Cardigans. I got to meet Nina Persson, which was awesome.

David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Pearl Jam, the Smashing Pumpkins, A Perfect Circle, Travis, Stone Temple Pilots, Marilyn Manson, No Doubt, Bush and Moby are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. I'm sure I've seen some more.

edit: Metallica, Korn, Kid Rock, Powerman 5000 (all at summer sanitarium tour - very commercial), goo goo dolls (trying to forget), Pushmonkey, Buckcherry, Econoline Crush

That's one I would have liked to have seen.

I also hope to one day see Paul McCartney.

Believe it or not, I'd also like to see Oasis.

i haven't been to very many but the best i've ever been to was Prince in 04. what an awesome show...others that were great in order:

The Cure w/ Mogwai & Interpol in Tampa
Dismemberment Plan Farewell Tour in Orlando
Yo La Tengo w/ Aislers Set & Marshall Crenshaw here in Jax
Wilco w/ Damon & Naomi & Michio Kurihari (MICHIO!!!) in Gainesville
The Sea and Cake in Jax
Elton John in Jax
Slum Village w/ Phife from a Tribe Called Quest in Jax

other than that, they all kinda sucked...the worst ever was accompanying my bro-in-law to a Godsmack concert...at which i felt god smacked me with a bat of injustice.

Pearl Jam couldn't have been worse than Poison or Fun Lovin' Criminals.

I've been to more jazz and classical concerts than I could ever hope to remember. And honestly, those were among the best that I've ever been to. But I'll list the rock bands I've seen. There hasn't been too many.

Lynard Skynard
Rush (THREE times with Mr. Big opening and Primus opening the other two times)
Jethro Tull with Procul Harem
Metallica and Guns N Roses with Faith No More
Lollapallooza '93 I think, the year Primus and Alice In Chains headlined
Foo Fighters and Ben Folds Five
Dave Matthews Band with Ben Harper and the Innocents Criminals
Phish
Fishbone and Maceo Parker
Barenaked Ladies

And that's about all the big rock concerts I've been to.

Michael Buble featuring the fabulous Lyman Medeiros on bass

I hear that's one sexy bass player.

Rush (THREE times with Mr. Big opening and Primus opening the other two times)

wow that's alot of powerful bass playing. Geddy Lee, Billy Sheehan AND Les Claypool...it doesn't really get any stronger than that. you'd have to have a Jaco/Vic Wooten/Tony Levin sixstring hoedown to top that.

Ok...this is off the top of my head.

Philip Walker - Awesome blues show

Down From the Mountain - so there was Emmylou Harris, Allison Kraus, Gilian Welch, Ricky Skaggs, Del McCourey, Dan Tyminski, and a few others not coming to me right now.

B.B. King with Shemekia Copeland opening - Fabulous show

Rolling Stones...7th row center.

I've seen ZZ Top twice.

Scorpions.

Van Hagar - 5150 tour...free ticket from some gals walking past my fraternity house.

Santana - before he got popular again.

Lots of classic rock bands at a series of music festivals in SLC...Foghat, BTO, John McCay & Steppenwolf, Doobies, etc.

Dio

Jeff Healy.

Saw Whitesnake open for Quiet Riot.

A Perfect Circle/Pygmy Love Circus, or something
The Stills/Jason Collett (I think that was his name)
Jimmy Eat World/Gratitude and some other band
The Organ/Controller.Controller
Isis/These Arms Are Snakes/Mare

The best was probably APC.

It was okay, they played at lot from my least favorite album, 'Good News' and only one song from 'Moon and Antartica.'

What made that the worst? It was just a very boring set list, many of which were new songs, and the band just wasn't very engaging.

Metallica and Guns N Roses with Faith No More

I saw these three on tour together. I thought FNM blew doors on Guns, not in the least because Mike Patton is such an energetic front man and Axel was such a lame one.

The Black Crowes have consistantly put on one of the best live rock shows I've seen.

BB King is by far the best bluesman I've seen live.

That's them. I used to love that band. They were on a triple bill with Aussie bands the Hummingbirds and...shit, can't remember the other one.

TPOH put on a great show. It was in a small club, and I was pretty nera the front. I was majorly crushing on Kris Abbott, the redheaded guitarist/backing vocalist.

I've also seen a bunch of unknown (overseas, anyway) Aussie bands in bars and clubs, but I won't bore you with the list.

The first couple years I was in Vancouver, we saw them a whole bunch of times. By that point there was a guy on bass, but there was a cute little brunette playing tambourine and singing backup.

Had no idea they were known outside of Canada. Did they play "Talk Dirty to Me" when you saw them?

Lots of Cajun bands at various crop festivals in Acadiana.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in 1984 (10 years old I was!)

Bob Dylan w/ Steve Earle
Bob Dylan w/Cowboy Mouth

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers w/Chris Whitley (Tom, of course, was great. But that's where I first heard Whitley.)

Warren Zevon (solo, acoustic. Umm...so good! Bonus: On his 1992 live album, LEARNING TO FLINCH, the performance of "Werewolves of London" was recorded in Tipitina's, New Orleans. That's me screaming in the background!)

Dash Rip Rock, many times, many places.

Southern Culture on the Skids

Lisa Loeb (don't laugh. She actually rocks in concert. Her albums are waaay too overproduced. As Bill Davis of Dash said, she's 'hardcore.')

The Foo Fighters, w Queens of the Stone Age. Great show.

Faith no More, w Kyuss opening. Another good one. (What's the connection between this and the previous entry? Hmmmm.)

Eric Clapton. Pretty good, considering that most of the material was 30 years old.

Metallica, twice. Black tour, so no opening slot. Great the first time, pretty good the second (too much goofing around the second time.)

Mojo Nixon-- the first time I saw him it was a life-changing experience. This was also at Tipitina's and my friends and I had gone to see Mojo and Skid specifically. A band we didn't know, Too Much Joy, opened for him and instantly converted us. The Dick Nixons played the second slot and were also great. Then Mojo came on and blew the roof off. For a long time that's what I thought rock should be. Go to Tip's and you can still see the ad for the show.

I also saw Mojo w/ the Toadliquors at Tip's a few years later and he was still great.

Black 47 at Tip's.

The Levellers at Tip's.

The Levellers at WOMAD.

MIDNIGHT FREAKIN' OIL at NOMAD, who blew, I am sad to say, Peter Gabriel awaaaaay.

Astral Project at Snug Harbor.

Elvis Costello and the Attractions, Brutal Youth tour. Completely decimated the opening act, the Crash Test Dummies.

Too Much Joy, Jimmy's in Nworlins. Another life-changing experience.

Wow this would be hard to remember and also to see which stubs I stilll have left.

I have seen:
Ben Folds - 11 times
Less than Jake - 13 times
Oasis - every American tour(including Live Forever) and for the last couple I saw them twice in 2 different cities.

My 2 favorite shows of all time:
Radiohead - 08/01 Grant Park, Chicago what an incredible show !
Black Crowes - sometime in 95(Amorica tour), Fox Theater, Atlanta - front row center of the balcony, I had a broken ankle and the big honking boot covering it up and fortuantely had the ledge to put it up on, I still think Amorica is their best album, and anyone who has heard She Gave Good Sunflower live has to agree.

Oddities:
311 - 1996 at Masquearde in Atlanta, it was $3.11 to get in to the show and 12 people showed up.
The Eels - 2002 Cabaret Metro, Chicago, after playing a full set and encore, they still hadn't played "Novocaine For Your Soul", Metro raised the house lights and people started leaving, a few minutes later the drummer came out started playing "Novocaine For Your Soul" and singing it, all of us in the audience sang along and then the rest fo teh band came out and played another 3 songs. Defintiely was a special night.
Jane's Addiction - 1994(I think?) International Ballroom, Atlanta Im standing midway in the audience and all of a sudden the band pops up on a stage literally right next to me, and as Perry is singing "Jane Says", I am literally holding onto his tie.
Follow For Now - 1992 Roxy, Atlanta Had a Yin Yang in my ear and my favorite DePaul hat on, stage dove and both were gone forever.
Kula Shaker - 1997(I think) Cotton Club, Atlanta their first ever show in America, the radio station gave us T-shirts, the ugliest purple ones you ahve ever seen commemorating them as the first station in the US to play them and the first ever show in the US.
Verve - 1998 Roxy, Atlanta, tickets have been long sold out, my friend and I scalp them from a guy in front of the theater. As soon as my buddy hands over his cash, a policeman stops the guy and makes him give us back the money. We tell the scalper we will meet him insideand pay him, but of course we never find him again and is on my top 10 shows of all time and was free.
Travis, Doves 2000 various Chicago, one of my favorite memories, I went with a group of people to see Travis open up for Dido. Travis came out, I loved them as always, and then Dido came out, she was terrible (surprise, surprise) and I turned ot my friend and he said "think we can make it to the Doves" so off we went. For those Chicagoans Travis and Dido were at Rosemont Arena or whatever it is called by the airport(but not the Horizon) and the Doves were playing at Cabaret Metro in Wrigelyville and we were taking public transportation. So as we are going, we are about change trains and I call Cabaret Metro to see if the Doves have started yet. The were starting in 15 minutes and we really weren't close, so we skipped the train and jumped in a cab, we get out in front of Metro and pay for entrance and walk in and the Doves are taking teh stage at that exact moment. It was perfect, and to this day I can say I have seen Travis open for the Doves, even though they were never on the same bill.

I have been going to concerts since 1987, my first (non parent) concert was The Rolling Stones (Steel Wheels tour, Living Colour opened)
followed by
1988 - Kid N Play, Heavy D and The Boyz, and Public Enemy - UIC Pavillion, we were the only white kids in our section and when Chuck D started his "preaching" we were kind of afraid (15 yrs old at the time).
1989 - Young MC at the Riviera Night Club, Chicago my friend and I had to sleep at his aunt and uncle's (I lived in the burbs at the time) they dropped us off at like 7:30 for an 8:00 show and were going to pick us up at like 11. the Riviera was known then for having a couple of murders take place over the previous few years, so 11 rolls around and Young MC hasn't come on yet. His aunt and uncle had come to pick us up and we told them he hasnlt performed yet. Somehow they are let in for free and wind up meeting the promoter, Young had gotten so drunk on the flight in he couldn't perform, they were waiting for him to sober up. He finally got on stage at 12:45 and performed just fine to my 16 year old ears.

The Cotton Club in Atlanta became the de facto britpop club in Atlanta in the late '90s most of the brit bands we saw played there, shows included: Blur, Kula Shaker, Charlatans, Suede, and a bunch of others I'm blanking on at the moment.

I forgot, I opened for Chris Isaak a couple of times when I was touring with Bublee.

That made me remember that I saw Chris Isaak two years ago.

Also Blues Traveller and Coco Montoya.

A friend of mine would kill to talk to the singer in that band (or maybe she wouldn't kill, since she's a vegan now).

Heh, I didnt get to talk to Tarja actually as it was before the show and apparently talking before can put a strain on her voice =/

They were all really cool though, very friendly and chatty guys. :)

My very first concert was seeing The Statler Brothers with opener Helen Cornelius it was before 1987 but I don't remember the exact date. Harold from TSB stopped the show in the middle of a song so I could take a picture.

08/06/87 - Survivor with opener Steve Mullen.

Mullen was a Chicago keyboardist. I met him after his set. Got to high five Survivor singer Jimi Jamison during the encore of Eye of the Tiger.

07/25/88 - Robert Plant with Cheap Trick

The sound mix for Plant was terrible, Cheap Trick was amazing.

08/24/88 - Aerosmith with Guns N'Roses

There was so much pot being smoked by the audience during the intermission I had a contact high through all of Aerosmith's set and most of the way home as well. GNR was okay, but not great musically.

11/30/88 - Bad Company with Winger

Both bands were excellent, and I got to meet Winger after the show.

02/16/89 - Poison with Tesla

Poison sucked, one of the worst shows ever. Tesla destroyed them.

1989 - (Not sure of date) Anthrax with Helloween & Exodus

The very first Headbanger's Ball tour. I went for Helloween, it was just a few weeks after guitarist Kai Hansen had quit the band, but they were great. I liked Anthrax as well. Exodus was just okay.

1989 - (Not sure of date) Metallica with Queensryche

One of the greatest shows I've ever seen.

07/21/89 - W.A.S.P. with Accept and Metal Church

This was Accept with vocalist David Reece not Udo Dirkschneider. They were good but I wish I had seen Udo. Metal Church was awesome and I got to meet 4 of them before the show, vocalist at the time Mike Howe was a superb guy. W.A.S.P. was simply superb. I got a drumstick from W.A.S.P. drummer Frankie Banali.

07/25/89 - Metallica with The Cult

Metallica was awesome again, The Cult sucked.

08/13/89 - Tesla with Great White and Badlands

Badlands was hampered by being outside a bit, but they still sounded good. Great White had a great standing ovation for their outstanding performance of "Save Your Love." Tesla kicked butt.

08/25/89 - Don Henley with Edie Brickell & New Bohemians

She was okay, but Henley was awesome.

11/10/89 - Local band Xcalibur

I saw them with friends that knew guys in the band. Decent but obviously never went anywhere.

11/28/89 - Badlands with D.A.D.

Badlands in a club had the potential to be great but severe overcrowding hampered my enjoyment of the show. I did get a great photo of the late Ray Gillen during a song thought. Funny thing is it is a photo that was a mistake. It's the only one from a roll that the developers screwed up that came out, and it's actually wrong, but it turned out great. I stood next to the drummer from D.A.D. during the Badlands set

02/11/90 - Whitesnake with Kix

I love Kix on record, but they weren't that great live when I saw them. Whitesnake was pretty good.

05/24/90 - SAVATAGE with Emissary

Emissary was a local Rhode Island band, decent enough. This is the concert that began my long standing love of SAVATAGE. I got to hear the soundcheck, and met 4 of the five guys before the show. The photo I have of the now deceased guitarist Criss Oliva and myself is one of my prized possessions.

06/26/90 - Aerosmith with The Black Crowes

Aerosmith was good, I didn't think The Black Crowes were all that great.

07/13/90 - Heart with Giant

Heart was superb. I'm so glad I finally got the chance to see them. Giant was surprisingly good.

07/14/90 - Melissa Etheridge with del amitri

They sucked, she was fantastic. It's where I first learned she was a lesbian even though it was years before she came out. It was very disconcerting because before her set me and a friend of mine were flirting with these four women in front of us and as soon as the show started, they were all over each other. Not that we minded, but we didn't get any of that action.. :evilsmile

03/15/91 - Nelson with House of Lords

My sister loved Nelson and I promised to take her to a show if they hit the area. My brother's godfather took us into Boston from Belmont where he lived at the time in a limo. I was there for House of Lords who were quite good. Nelson was okay surprisingly enough.

06/30/91 - Queensryche with Suicidal Tendencies

The singer for ST was completely wasted for the whole set but somehow managed to pull it off. This was the first time I saw Queensryche during the Empire tour when they did the entire Operation:mindcrime performance.

8/29/91 - Damn Yankees with Bad Company and Tattoo Rodeo

TR was okay, I loved both Bad Company and Damn Yankees

11/5/91 Queensryche with WarriorSoul

First and only concert I've been to where the opener got booed off the stage. The singer sucked and was a complete jackass. The second time I saw QR on the Empire tour and the second time they kicked ass.

08/06/93 - Def Leppard with Ugly Kid Joe

Another show I promised to take my sister to. Leppard was really good, UKJ not so much.

07/12/94 - Melissa Etheridge with Billy Pilgrim

Another great set from ME, Billy Pilgrim wasn't interesting to me then, but I got into them later.

11/02/94 - Mary Chapin Carpenter with John Gorka

Opening night of her 13 city acoustic tour. I hadn't heard of Gorka before but he was good and his stage patter was hilarious. I have all of his albums now. MCC was perfect.

11/19/95 and 11/20/95 - Melissa Etheridge with Paula Cole

I got great seats for both shows through ME's fan club. First night I had a date with a 6 foot 2 blonde amazon. Second night Joe Perry came out during AC/DC cover. Paula Cole was great the first night, but lost me when she played the exact same show WORD FOR WORD, ACTION FOR ACTION the next night.

07/16/95 - Queensryche with Type O Negative

TON sucked so bad it's almost funny. QR reigned supreme again.

10/13/95 - Blues Traveler

I missed the opener, and BT sucked badly.

06/21/96 - Ozzy Osbourne with Prong and Filter

The year before Ozzfest started. The two openers were awful and Ozzy was pretty good.

08/16/96 - Mary Chapin Carpenter with Trisha Yearwood and Kim Richey

One of the best shows ever. This show made me a huge fan of Trisha and Kim's.

08/20/96 - Melissa Etheridge

The first time I had seen her inside rather than outside. She had Kenny Aronoff on drums at this time and he was powerful but the show was lacking something. Still good but not great.

06/28/97 - Dokken with Maraya and Uncle Jack

The two openers were awful. The reunited Dokken (with George Lynch) was fantastic, and I was on the guest list so I didn't even have to pay!

07/01/97 - U2 with Fun Lovin' Criminals

I love my parents! Why? Because this was my birthday present in 1997!

08/02/97 - Queensryche with Dirty Larry

Local Boston band wins a contest to open for QR. They sucked QR was phenomenal in last tour with guitarist Chris DeGarmo.

08/10/97 - Mary Chapin Carpenter with Joe Ely

Ely was okay, but not really a fan. LOVED MCC!!

09/10/98 - SAVATAGE with Joe Stump

Stump was more impressed with himself than I was. SAVATAGE was fantastic in front of a pathetically small crowd. Concert was at Mama Kin's in Boston while it was still owned by Aerosmith. I got to meet singers Jon Oliva and Zachary Stevens after the show

12/3/99 - Queensryche with Caroline's Spine

Missed most of the opener. Queensryche with new guitarist, the hack Kelly Gray was horrible. Turned out singer Geoff Tate was sick that night but toughed it out. Show was still awful though.

06/10/00 - Trisha Yearwood with Kim Richey

Another great show. I got to chat briefly with Kim Richey after her set.

07/20/00 - Def Leppard with The Unband

No idea who the opener, The Unband, was but they sucked. Def Leppard was fantastic.

08/06/00 - Iron Maiden with Queensryche and Rob Halford

Halford and Maiden = a concert dream of mine come true. Queensryche was terrible again. First time I met someone that I talked to on Internet.

04/26/01 - SAVATAGE with Fates Warning and three other openers

The openers were either missed or awful. Fates Warning was okay, but surprisingly dead for their set. Disappointing since I love their music. Second time I've met someone from the Net, and I got to hang backstage with Jon Oliva and Damond Jiniya from SAVATAGE before there set. Met SAVATAGE drummer Jeff Plate by merchandise stand during openers.

07/07/01 Trisha Yearwood

Another great show!

08/02/01 Shawn Colvin with Kim Richey

Shawn Colvin was decent but I was there for Kim Richey who was fantastic once again. Talked to her after her set again.

07/14/2002 - Trisha Yearwood

Surprise Surprise, she was awesome again!

07/27/03 - Mary Chapin Carpenter with Eliza Gilkyson

MCC was awesome. I hadn't heard of Gilkyson before, but I became a fan after her set. She was really good. I bought two of her CDs and she was there to talk to and sign the discs after her set.

Other Dutch bands you might be interested in are Autumn, Nemesea, Orphanage, To Elysium (disbanded now), Imperia (well, part Dutch).

@Punchy - The Polyphonic Spree were pretty damn amazing live. It was a really small venue so it somehow seemed alot more "energetic" if you get my meaning. I dont think their show would translate so well to a bigger venue.

@Bakema NL - How good are WT and AF live? Seeing them later this year and am curious. Also, what do you think of Consign To Oblivion? I for one am dissapointed.

Here is my list, although I am sure I have forgotten a ton.

This really doesn't include smaller bands/shows. I have seen a ton of Canadian bands who do the university circuit, but they are not coming to mind right now.

I have tried to organize by year so that it made sense in my mind.

1984
Duran Duran – Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto

1985
U2 – Massey Hall, Toronto

1986
Peter Gabriel – Maple Leaf Garden, Toronto

1987
The Cure – CNE, Toronto
U2 – CNE, Toronto

1988
Cowboy Junkies – Convocation Hall, Toronto

1989
Neil Young – Canada’s Wonderland, Toronto

1990
Neil Young and Crazy Horse/Sonic Young – Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto
Grateful Dead – Rich Stadium, Buffalo
Steve Miller Band – Canada’s Wonderland, Toronto

1991
Jerry Garcia Band – Knickerbocker Arena, Albany
Nirvana – Metropolis, Montreal

1992
Grateful Dead (2 shows) – Copps Coliseum, Hamilton
Grateful Dead – Rich Stadium, Buffalo
Allman Brothers – Canada’s Wonderland, Toronto
U2 – CNE, Toronto

1993
Grateful Dead – Rich Stadium, Buffalo
Neil Young & Pearl Jam – CNE, Toronto
Matthew Sweet – Metropolis, Montreal

1994
Belly – Theatre St. Denis, Montreal
Urge Overkill – Shatner Building, Montreal
Lemonheads – Metropolis, Montreal

1995
From 1995 to 1999 I lived in Halifax, so mostly smaller, East Coast bands.

1998
Lilith Fair (mostly for Liz Phair) – Molson Amphitheatre, Toronto

1999
Lucinda Williams – Convocation Hall, Toronto

2000
Buena Vista Social Club – Massey Hall, Toronto

2001
Lucinda Williams – Massey Hall, Toronto

couldn't tell you the years for most of these, also not including local stuff.

best-
rammstein at the m in pittsburgh, pa because
a)it was the only time i've ever gotten a good spot at that place
b)when they started playing, the newer material just sounded off, i’ll admit. couldn’t pick out the guitar parts, drums, etc. but when they got into the older material, it was great, it sounded studio like, but it was live. if that makes sense.
c)i may be a wee bit biased, as they are my favorite band.

worst? hmmm…other than opening act crap i’ve had to sit through, either

limp bizkit, ozzfest mainstage at the starlake (or whatever it’s called now) outside pittsburgh. this was shortly after “counterfit” got big. good gawd damn do i hate that song. and it’s even worse when 75% of everyone within eyesight of you is singing along to the damnable thing.

or

slipknot, ozzfest 2004 second stage, starlake. i like the debut album, i like iowa even more. but volume 3 just BLOWS sooo much. that, and the sound just sucked, i couldn’t even follow along on any of the songs i knew.

bands i have to see before i die
-the mad capsule markets
-brujeria
-otep. (missed them THREE TIMES now when they’ve been within a three hour radius of me)

band I’ve seen the most
-deftones, 3 times total
at ozzfest second stage – starlake
some random acts put together radio show, second stage – starlake
another random act radio show, same year, “the m” (or whatever it’s called now) pittsburgh

everything else

various ozzfests, all at starlake
-ozzy/sabbath
-judas priest
-slayer
-superjoint ritual (sucked)
-zakk wyldes black label whatever
-sytem of a down
-primus
-lacuna coil
-static x
-hatebreed
-lamb of god
-dimmu borgir
-fear factory

the m, pittsburgh
-peter murphy
-ministry
-motograter (great live, horrible cd)
-lollipop lust kill
-godhead
-crossbreed
-static x
-staind
-16 volt
-kidneythieves
-kmfdm

club laga, pitts
-concrete blonde
-hate dept.
-pitbull daycare
-electric hellfire club
-hypocrisy
-nevermore
-children of bodom
-dimmu borgir

mr smalls theatre, a small town outside of pitts, the name of which escapes me.
-kmfdm
-dj acucrack

club café, pitts
-the red elvis’s

mellon arena, pitts,
-nine inch nails
-marylin manson

forget the exact name of the place, but it’s like the “joe. q. public arena” in pitts
-fiona apple

the crowbar, state college, pa
-liz phair (the theory involved in why it would be tolerable to go didn’t pan out anyway)
-mushroomhead (eh, they kinda sucked live too. course that may be because the people i went with had to stay right in front of the frikkin stage through ALL FIVE ACTS that night, including mushroomhead)

some club/bar in new orleans
-the asylum street spankers

sure i’m missing a lot of bands, and a lot i just didn’t care about on the tours i’ve seen

I live in a concert wasteland, but this is what I've seen lately.

Peppers Ghost with Collective Soul

A Lost Order, Sicks Deep, St. Diablo, Downward Halo (local acts and one Battle for Ozzfest band)

Art of Destuction, Bleed (more local) 3 Inches of Blood, The Agony Scene, Still Remains, and Trivium. Trivium rocked!!!

Mudvayne - cancelled. Chad got the flu, but I got to meet the rest of the band.

Drove to Hampton with my friend Gene and Jade to see All That Remains, Shadows Fall, Lamb of God, and Slipknot.

Last week, Unhinge, Cikada, Sicks Deep, St. Diablo.

The end of the month, Battle for Ozzfest Tour..see my blog.

I haven't been to very many. I suck that way.

But Morning Wail's first show on March 28th, 2005 at the Peking (Pee King) Gourmet was pretty fuckin sweet.

OH FUCk. I was at the LAMB OF GOD show at the Glasshouse in Pomona last night. HOLY FUCK. When Lamb started playing, the whole floor started moving. Pretty soon, nearly the entire floor was a gian circle-pit. I went in for the hell of it, it was my first time pitting ever and it was fucking awesome. Lamb of God kicked so much ass, it was unbelieveable.

The other concerts I've been to were the Curiosa Festivle, a Blood Brothers/Against Me show in the Glasshouse, and soon I'll be going to Coachella (day 2).

Not a whole lot at all, but I'm workin' on that.

Can't remember them all but can remember my first ever concert.

Public Enemy, Gangstarr and EPMD at the Brixton Acedemy 1991  .....when Hip Hop had a positive message other than the negative crap ganster rappers keep going on about.

I've been to some concerts, the ones that really have stood out for me were the two U2 PopMart concerts (1st one was my best seats to a concert, 11th row on the floor) and Mindless Self Indulgence. Two completely different bands, great experiences at both. I can't wait until this September--2 floor tickets to the U2 Vertigo Tour in Minneapolis. I did pay through the nose, but U2 puts on one helluva show. IMO they sound even better live.

I saw Built to Spill last night over at Irving Plaza in New York (easily my least favorite venue). The band was great and played most of my favorites (including "Velvet Waltz" I song I heard they rarely play since Perfct From Now On. it's so difficult) but man what an awful crowd. I decided to go to the balcony and avoid all the under 19 year olds on the floor and found a decent spot until BTS started to play and I was squeezed out of my spot.

Think I saw Austin (formerly warpedwonder) there though.

I'm more of a festival man than individual gigs.

At gigs I have seen Bloc Party, Ash, Evanescence, Limp Bizkit, Deep Purple, Whitesnake and a bunch of other 80's metal band when I was a kid.

At festivals I have seen:

Metallica
Ash
Linkin Park
White Stripes
Green Day
Orbital
Chemical Brothers
System Of A Down
Marilyn Manson
Eminem
Weezer
Foo Fighters

Queens Of The Stone Age
The Killers
and about 200 others.

Got my Glastonbury and Carling Festival tickets for this year too.
Highlights Include:
Bloc Party
New Order

Tori Amos
White Stripes
Ash (6th time I'll have seen them)
Pixies (FINALLY!!!)

I saw O.A.R. last night and it was a really great show. Excellent live performers; very good and into-it audience. I've rarely seen a show that was so alive.

Whoah, long time, no post here.

And I never answered your question Will.......guess I missed a reply to this thread or something.

Within temptation is really fun, nice music, not earth-shattering....but the music is also a bit softer of course. A new dvd has just been released, the concert on Java island in Amsterdam, I was there too, so that's a great dvd to have of course if you've been there yourself.
After forever is kick-ass, really damn great. They played on the Java island too as openers for Within temptation............the roles could have been reversed as far as I was concerned, AF is more up my alley and that night they were incredibly great............and Sharon from Within temptation came onstage to do "Beyond me" with the band (as she did on the first album of course), so that was utterly great too, beautiful. But if you would have seen that then it became obvious Floor Jansen is an enormous powerhouse with her voice and what she can do with it, it was almost embarrassing for Sharon to sing right next to Floor.

If you have already seen them live, let me hear your opinion on both bands.

And other concerts I've been to in the meantime are Epica (again), After forever and Arch enemy......and I'm forgetting something I think, but there's nothing but a blur right now... :)

Nothing in the pipeline just now.........still want to get tickets for Stream of passion (an Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon) band) and Swallow the sun is playing two gigs in the Netherlands in the near future, but both locations are a bit far, like all the way south and all the way north in the Netherlands, I hate it when that's the case.

Consign to oblivion is not a total letdown I think, the more you hear it the more you appreciate it. It could have done with more grunts I think. Simone's voice is a letdown when you first hear it maybe, but actually she's doing a lot of different things with it, it's more diverse.
