Im an addict, I love the game, gave up Magic for it. My only problem is that they are releasing too many teams in my opinion, which I think is a bad thing, but other than that I think its awesome.
I play usually two or three times a month, or as often as our collective schedules will allow. I know MK is coming like... today, but neither me nor any of my playing buddies is very excited about the set, and we have all pretty much said we would skip this one and wait for GL Corps to spend our money on. Thats the problem when you release sets SO FREAKIN FAST, people dont always have enough money to buy multiple boxes of each.
Anyway, if you ever wanna talk VS, Im there!

I also play. I just got done building a decent Sinister Syndicate deck (holy crap, the Goblin Glider is like the best equipment ever! You want to see something funny, put a Goblin Glider on Kraven and play Mega-Blast when you attack. Kraven's base damage (5 I think?) plus 12! That can easily turn the tide of the game if you hit a little wimp in the back and score breakthrough)
My other two decks are a Spidey/Batman deck that's based on drawing lots of cards and making the opponent discard and a X-Men/Brotherhood deck that's based on a strong defense, putting down lots of mutants, and getting lots of War on Humanities out. Getting the 6 or 7 drops out (Colossus, Rogue, Storm, Magneto, Prof. X, Wolverine) makes it that much easier.

I also gave up Magic for it [never could get into the whole demons, dragons, witches and warlocks thing]. My wife and I play a couple times a week. She runs an X-Men deck mainly, she also uses a Superman deck ans a Spider-Friends deck. I run Doom Army, Brotherhood, Arkham and LoA. One thing we do different is use 100 endurance instead of 50. Try it once, changes the whole game. 8,9 and 10 drops actually become a factor, and you get to use more of your cards. I can understand how the quick release times could get hard on the wallet, but luckily for me my wife's a nurse and makes a good income. I'm really looking forward to MK, Hidden area looks cool and I'm really geeked to build an Underworld deck. :D

I love VS. System! My best fighter cards are Spider-Man(14a), Dock Ock(15a), Green Goblin(For his awesome effect)(9a), Juggernaut(17a), Invisible Woman(16a), and Trigon(20a).

Could someone explain this game or post a website that explains it? I've always been intrigued.

I played up until just before the Superman set. The wife said one of my (many) hobbies had to go and I sacraficed VS. I still have the cards around here somewhere.
I mainly played FF, Doom and Gotham Knights. I was always building silly decks also. I had pretty fun sentinel/skrull deck that could win big but usually died a very horrible death :p

i have to say while i tried the game, i've never fuly gotten into it. for some reason the mechanics don't really appeal to me.. currently i'm enjoying the Star Wars TCG more.. the dice throws add some suspense and chance, which i find very enjoyable. it's just like when playing table top games and that small unit manages to have a huge throw to defeat the flame-throwing, armour wearing baddie.

I played the old Star Wars CCG from Decipher. Then they sold the rights to Wizard and a whole new game engine was born, rendering my old cards useless. I also made the mistake of playing Overpower (which was kind of a lousy game, anyway). I sincerely doubt I'll be spending any more money on a card game that might evaporate in three years. :(

www.vsuniverse.com (strategy, forums, etc...)
www.vsrealms.com (same deal as vsuiniverse)

I understand your feeling, but if all thats holding you back is fear that the game will dissapear, you can relax. Upper Deck has installed a Pro Cirquit much like Magic's, with prizes totalling over a million dollars, that kind of cash insures that the game will be around for years and years, because people are greedy bastards. Really though, Magic was in trouble until they upped the ante on the Pro Tour, and Uppder Deck realized that the way to suck in people is to dangle fat checks in front of them, even if 99% of players will never make any money playing the game.

I see what you're getting at. If that's true however, it raises a question: would guys play a crappy game for many, many years just to increase the chances of winning a pro circuit? I'm not saying VS. System is crappy (in fact, I heard it was really excellent from many people) but in theory, could they crank out some BS game and offer people money to play?

If the game sucked, but they offered huge cash prizes... yes, it would sell, thats just the way the world is. Luckily, it doesnt suck at all, so its all good, but I see what you are saying.

Time to bring back a dead topic, does anyone still play?
Luckily at the LCS I goto, there's enough people that do play, so every other Sunday there's a big meet, lots of good players and lots of other people getting interested too. I'm glad the games really picking up.
I've been playing since Origins and I've got a Golden Age Teen Titans, a ZeroLock (Green Lantern lockdown deck focusing on Zero Hour) a Brother Doom deck (Brotherhood + Doom stall) and I'm working on a swarming X-Men/Teen Titans deck, I'd like to X-Titans.
For those still playing, what do you think of the game in its state as of now? Me, I personally think its one of the weirdest evolutions of a card game ever. I have never seen commons from one set go any where from 6-10 dollars so quickly. And with mechanics changing drastically every expansion I'm afraid Upper Deck might be wearing themselves thin.
I'm still waiting for my JSA expansion. :(

I bought the FF deck and some expansion packs. My wife and i played a couple times with the easy rules. We kind of set them to the side while the printout of the expanded rules from the upper deck website gathers dust on my desk. One day soon we shall play again! :D
