It looks like the rumored Firefly/Serenity comic book is going to happen:

Consider me happier than a pig in mud if Joss Whedon really is going to write the comic book.

A Joss Whedon written Firefly/Serenity comic would be a MUST buy for me.

A Firefly/Serentity comic written by anyone else would be...well...ok..but mostly a " oh look..they made a Firefly/Serentity comic..."

But with Joss! Wow. That would be awesome!

Given the prequel setting, I'm guessing this is the adaptation of the aborted animated DTV prequel.

And I know it's a pipe dream, but I'd still like to see Joss bring along John Cassaday for the project.

One other update. At today's Serenity panel at WonderCon, Joss mentioned that each issue of the mini-series will have 3 covers. There will be 9 covers in all and each cast member will be featured on a cover. The first cover mentioned was Captain Mal Reynolds by John Cassaday!

Btw, the 5 minute clip from the movie that was part of "show and tell" during the Q&A session was F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C! September 30th can't come soon enough!
