if so whats your favorite case mine is

the Calico disappearance. That photo of the two kids bound and gagged is nightmare inducing. I saw it once, probably on UM, and it has haunted me ever since. I actually saw it again a few weeks ago on a website about missing children, and was saddened to see that the case hadn't been resolved. It's just as creepy and chilling as ever. The looks on their faces...i will never forget.

That kidnapping case, was that the one where the lady went into the 7 - 11 after parking next to a white panel van, and then when she came out, the van was gone but she found the photo?

If that's the photo, I did see an update, but not on UM, it was on something else.
Originally they thought the boy might be the one who also turned up missing about same time as Tara Calico, but it turned out not to be him, as searchers found remains in the mountains where that family had been camping when he turned up missing. DNA proved it was that family's son, and they theorize that he'd been trying to rock climb and slipped.

But...that now leaves that boy in the photo unidentified, and I've not heard anything on tara either

do any body remember the episode where the grandmother was trying to brain wash her grandson by satanic videos? *shudders*

Huh?

This was one of the best shows ever. I love it. I still watch it on Lifetime. It is fun to see all the updates.

Some of my favorites:

1- The same abduction you guys have mentioned. That picture makes the story.

2- The story about the 15 year that disappeared in the 70's, and the mom's quest through the Biker underground to find her.

3- The alcatraz special

4- The murder of the guy at the truck stop phone booth, and the orange datsun that was connected to the crime.

5- The mysterious jello blobs that fell in (i think) washington state.

6- The treasure in vittorio peak. Not sure of the exact name but I am close. I think the woman that claimed it was named Babe Knox or something.

7- DB Cooper

8- The Queen Mary episode.

many more that I can't think of right now.

a kinda simuler story was that of a man who got hit by a semi and was pretty mutch stuck to the grill for quite some time till he eventually fell off on the road.he was paralized from the waist down.every sense then he's been at every truck stop looking for that ass hole who hit him.

Unsolved Mysteries would always give me nightmares.

Especially (since I admit I am a fan of the Golden Girls ;)) I would watch GG and fall asleep. UM would be on next and it would give me nightmares even though I'm knocked out completely. The stories get into my head while I sleep and I sometimes become a part of the situations in the show.

Its the only kind of nightmares I've ever had where I wake up, struggling to breathe and sweating. I otherwise rarely have nightmares, and if I do they're not that serious.

I like Unsolved Mysteries. Robert Stack was definately the man. I could listen to that man speak for hours.

Dont really have a favourite though. But I did love the shows about UFO's, Bigfoot, Sea Monsters, and stuff like that.

Cant say that I was ever really scared when US would come on the air. But I can say that when I was a kid, I thought the music for US was pretty damn creepy for some reason. Good stuff.

Great show!

I love Unsolved Mysteries. I used to watch it every week and when it did come on, I was glued to the T.V. I would not leave til it was completely over.

My favorites are the missing peoples cases. Especially the one about Tara Leigh Calico. What a sad story. And I do believe the girl in the photo is her.

That would be great if it was revived. I really miss this show.

I actually met one of the people in a case. Some guy who had a newspaper & magazine stand here in Sacramento for 25 years. I met him in the mid-80s, right before he died suddenly. A year later, I saw him on "Unsolved Mysteries" and couldn't believe it! This would have been 1988, probably. It was in the first season.

The mystery was when the police arrived at his little apartment (he lived alone) he had nearly $1 million (I think) strewn about his apartment. In boxes and grocery bags. People realized they knew nothing about this man, or how he could have so much money hidden away. They still haven't solved how he got all that money. Here in Sacramento, there is a small plaque at the corner where he sold newspapers from 1962-1987.

Here in Sacramento, there is a small plaque at the corner where he sold newspapers from 1962-1987.this is why i love UM,the cases are just out there. my favs are

The Angela Hammond case[- this is one of the creepiest one's I remember. Her boyfriend drove to the location where she was abducted from - and on the way passed her in a truck screaming for her life. Upon doing a U-turn his transmission fell out and she was never seen again.

Five Fishermen From Hawaii-another case that always freaked me out wicked bad was the story of the five fishermen from Hawaii who went missing in the storm.

Normally, not a big deal but they found the boat trashed on some island along with a crude grave with one of the men in it. In the grave were about 100 small sheets of white paper. Between each sheet of white paper was a one square inch piece of tin foil.

Man, what is up with that???

Rhonda Hinson case
was the North Carolina woman who was murdered while en route home from a Christmas party. What I consider bizzare about the case was that, not long before her death, she had been taking showers after midnight. This is said to be the type of behavior of women who were sexually assaulted. Whether she really was a sexual assault victim, no one can say for sure. However, her mother said in the UM interview that Rhonda once asked her whether it was okay to date a married man. This seemed to imply that either Rhonda had an affair with a married man, or she knew of someone who did. So there was a theory that someone she knew was having an affair. If that was the case, it is possible that her unknown murderer killed her in order to ensure that she would never disclose it to anyone. I remember where eyewitnesses saw someone by the drives side door pushing that woman back and forth....they did not stop.....scary...

Mary Agnes Gross case[. Basically, an unwed mother has a baby in 1962. Because of the times, she is fully medicated during the delivery. When she wakes up, she is told that the baby is dead. Over the next few days, weird things happen. She isn't allowed to touch the deceased child, the family isn't allowed to photograph the baby, etc. After the funeral, someone sends the mother a photograph of a baby..and the baby looks like the mother's former husband. Years later, the baby's grave is unearthed and it turns out that it isn't her baby at all!!! DNA tests prove it!

The Ghost stories were pretty good as well. There was one where a guy decided to rent a cabin in some place to write his book. He looked out the window and a ghost was eyeing him thru a window...and didn't look happy.

The owner told him that the cabin sit on property where there was a bloody battle in the Civil War.

The Angela Hammon case is still open. Its been rumored by a few that perhaps she was killed by Kenneth Alan McDuff . (a serial killer who was put to death in 1998)

Rhonda Hinson' is sadly a cold case . I think one day the right guy or girl will come in and re-open the case and solve it. The town/state is offering a $20,000 reward for it.

This was an absolutly brilliant series, most of my favorite cases have already been mentioned already. To me this series never got old, I never got tired of watching the same episodes time and time again. Unsolved Mysteries was one of the few shows that my entire family could sit down and watch. I wish they had put more episodes on DVD, does anyone know if the Alcatraz special is on DVD?

I'm all for the idea of bringing the show back, but the key ingrediant is the host, they need someone that as the voice to be a great narrator as well as a commanding screen pressance, the way Rober Stack did, he was tough and gentle at the same time. Also Stack had that air of respectablity and authority to him, you knew that even though some of these stories were way out there you believed in them, because of Mr. Stack.

My favorite episode was the Roswell episode. A quality re-enactment of the Roswell UFO crash which launched interest in the event. I'd heard stories of Roswell, but I think Unsolved Mysteries was the first show to film the event, step-by-step.

I picked up the "Ghosts" DVD a few years back. This is some serious scary stuff in those shows. It is more frightening than any Halloween movies.

Theyre were so many good ones hard to pick, but id say my favourtie was the one where the three cowboys buy that old ranch in Texas, and once they get settled in their they begin to hear strange noises when their in bed, like loud bangs and footsteps coming towards their room. They even offered the UM crew to stay the night and experience it for themselves, annoyed me that they didnt take them up on it.

I watched Unsolved Mysteries in its first run episodes in the 80's. The ghost episodes always left me spooked such as Resurrection Mary & all the different accounts of this one ghost!

The Bigfoot/Sasquatch/Yeti/Skunk Ape stories were equally creepy.

Unsolved Mysteries was sort of an updated version of In Search Of....

If I really think about it... this might be my favorite show ever.

I remember particularly being freaked out by one of the alien abduction sotries- A mother and daughter are driving east down a freeway. They both blackout and the next thing they know they are driving west down the freeway and 45 minutes have lapsed.
