A lot of the various sprites can be found in the cast (which is full of snarky and sarcastic bios for characters) and fanart sections, so uh... have fun.

iirc, and I could be wrong, he just got burnt out on comics in general, added to the fact that he wasn't overflowing with positiveness for the direction of where some of the x-books were going.

oh. i wish him well then, i suppose. he and i seemed to agree on more things than not when we moderated together. i still picture that archangel avatar with the energy wings for some reason. best of luck, even though youll probably never read this (applicable to others as well).

I'd wager so, so you're looking (presumably) for an unmulletted Longshot (there's a few of the regular versions of him in the fanart section), but I wouldn't have a clue how, you'd have to ask someone who's good with a sprite editor or photo-shop.
