The scenes now have completed sfx, and they look great, I must say.. much better than before. The scene where storm is spinning and knocking people down looks much better with the lightning bolts.. They added more stuff to the bridge scene aswell.

That 7 minutes really give me hope for the film.
Beast and Logan's adversarial interaction was great.
Storm officially has a real first name!
The mutant "town hall" setup was neat. Very Morrison.
The new fight clips were cool, specifically the Colossus/Rogue and Kitty/Juggernaut scenes.
Cyclops is still a little too whiny for me, but too late to hope that's gonna change now.

I dont think that this is nearly enough time for everything that they are putting in this movie.
This is an even shorter running time than X-1
They are going to ruin this thing by rushing it. I bet they put out a "Super Duper" dvd 5 months after the first DVD with extra footage.

I caught part of the preview during Smallville, and my reception wasn't great, but I thought Beast looked a little *too* blue. Nightcrawler was a fairly dark shade of blue, but Beast's true blue color just emphasized, to me, the makeup that was used.
But maybe it was just me.

I think it was pretty accurate to his shade of blue in the comics. Well, some of the comics...he's changed hues alot over the years.

To be fair, the Daredevil script failed because they had to introduce the world while showing all those plots. But this is the third X-Men movie...there's nothing to set up, they can start right in with the interweaving plotlines.

What I think is going to happen is, it's a good story. It has good special effects. It's going to be apparent that the director sucks. It could and should be so much better. It has the elements of a good film(from what I've seen) but it's executed so poorly(from what I've seen).
I look at the Superman trailers and wish that Singer and his art director were back on XMen.

stylistically neutral means the production company is telling you wjat to do.../and that rarely works..shooting on schedule is what most directors do...
I'm surprised people(directors) still let themselves be bossed around by people who have no idea what it's all about.

The first clip has a rather creepy looking Patrick Stewart and "The Man".
According to the actors, apparentally there is no makeup or CG involved but instead a new morphing technique which superimposes old photographs-although that doesn't really look like 80's Patrick Stewart to me.

Wheee... more Stan Lee.
Patrick Stewart will tell you he's look this way since he was 23. I watched a biography of him. He looks the same way now as he did 30 years ago. He's been bald longer than he's had hair. And they probably just smoothed his face out a little to get rid of some minor wrinkles.

Just saw the 7min preview and I must say I am pretty excited by it... a couple awkward moments stood out for me, but overall, it seemed like it had the same "feel" as both X-Men films before it. I don't think it's going to be the critical and fanboy boon that X2 was. Like someone said earlier, I feel the haters will have plenty to hate and the other half will thoroughly dig this movie.

Considering the DaVinci Code has been the number 1 best selling book for a long time(pretty much since it came out), and people can't seem to shut up about it in general, I doubt any other movie will knock it out of it's number one spot for awhile.
Plus, people love Tom Hanks.

Watched the movie last night, and here's the skinny...
Cyclops is distraught over Jean's apparent death, yet it turns out that Jean is still alive. Cyclops ends up finding him, while a "cure" for the Mutant Gene is discovered, and Magneto takes it as an affrotn while Professor X understands why some mutants want it
Jean Grey comes back as the Phoenix: a DUAL PERSONALITY, and not a cosmic entity of Jean. She seems to kill Cyclops, and Wolverine and Storm find her and bring her back to the mansion. They discover that her powers were so unstable that Professor X put mental blocks in her miind so that she could control her powers. The blocked parts of her mind are the Phoenix. She escapes momentarily.
Beast is the secretary of Mutant Affairs, and has a conflict of interest as he discovers the source of the "cure". It is a mutant child who negates mutant powers from anyone within his vicinity.
Meanwhile, Bobby Drake is trapped in a love triangle between Rogue and Kitty Pryde. On the Brotherhood front, Magneto gets analogues of Psylocke (Not as hot as I expected. Yuch.), Avalanche, and some porcupine kind of guy. He also gets Multiple Man and Juggernaut, the latter ALSO a mutant, from helping Mystique escape. Unfortunately, Mystique gets caught by a cure bullet and ends up being turned back to a human being. Magneto coldheartedly leaves her...
So afterwards, Mags and Prof go to Jean's house because she escaped the Mansion. In a very amazing confrontation, Prof is disintegrated by Jean's TK. Magneto is not pleased at all, and the X-Mansion staff consider closing the school, until Angel shows up, as his father, the same man who created the cure, attempted to "cure" him and he escaped at the last moment.
Rogue leaves the mansion to take the cure, while Bobby and Kitty get even more at ease with each other. Magneto begins his strike on people, and this culminates in a campaign to destroy the cure and kill the child.
In the end, Wolverine tells Jean he loves her. And then kills her before her powers could go amok.
Even further in the end, Professor X is shown in a hospital bed. How he survived being disintegrated, I will never know.
By the way, which came first? The line from this movie, or the video "I'm the Juggernaut, Bitch?" Because Juggs said that line here. "don't you know who I am? I'm the Juggernaut, Bitch!!!"

The title is hint enough that they plan to not make anymore sequels. Other than having Juggernaut as a mutant, I don't have much to complain about, and in fact, kind of like the movie. Any issues I had with Hale Berry and Wolverine in general in the past still stand, but the sheer ambition they had in putting together this movie has to be admired, and I think it came together pretty well enough.
As a letter grade, I'd give this movie a B+, critically, and an A- for the enjoyment factor. I had a lot of fun watching it.

Wolverine is probably going to happen. It'd be easier to make then a X-Men movie with Hugh Jackman just coming back and the character is popular enough to carry his own movie. I'd go see a Wolverine movie.
Ultimately I think they will scrape plans for the other spinoffs and try to do X4 with whatever actors they can get to come back.

It's the Magneto movie that intrigues me the most. It's not often you see a villain from one movie given his own. (And Hannibal doesn't count, as it wasn't really "about" him)

I'd pretty see any movie with an X-Men character in it. But Wolverine seems like it'd be more of a gurantee money maker. He is along with Spider-man one of the most popular Marvel characters.
Plus a Wolverine movie almost gurantees a fight with Ninjas. And who doesn't want to see Wolverine skewer Ninjas on the silver screen?

I think a magneto movie can be intriguing if done right. But more than likely it won't be done right.

i still get a sense that this movie would be better if it was longer and not rushed.though the positive geek feedback is a good sign.(i still think its gonna get mauled by high brow critics though)
Fanboy criticism hold more water for me than critic reveiws. For one, is anyone really as rabid as the internet geek base? If you can please them in general, then you must have a winner. And secondly, my motivation in seeing X-Men 3 is for entertainment, not to "have an experience." There are the great films like Schindler's List, and then there are just popcorn movies like X2.
And chalk me up also for believing we will see an X-Men 4.
I personally don't want to see a Magneto flick happen because Hollywood tends to go off on tangents about stuff like that and not stick to the material. (With a tagline like "No matter who wins - we lose," Alien vs. Predator had amazingly few Alien against Predator fight scenes, and um...guess what? There was an actual clear winner, which I was really glad happened instead making it an ambiguous stalemate, but we didn't lose.) If I see a Magneto movie, I want to see Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, and Acolytes. Asteroid M and Avalon. I want to see Genosha and tons of other established mutants doing what they do. I don't want to see something like Magneto ending up in a small country and becomes the nation's hero because he stops a genocide. (Which I could easily see them doing.)
*Sigh*
I just don't like it when stupid stuff has to happen, like nipples on a batsuit, Halley Berry being involved in X-Men OR Catwoman, or Cyclops playing second fiddle to Wolverine for all three movies. Ugh.

why not??? that idea has great potential.it will give mageneto some depth.instead of him being just a powerful bad guy.

The movie is out folks, no more speculation is needed. All X3 talk can now go in the X-MEN 3: The Last Stand (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=125884) thread.
