Laynia Sergeievna Petrovna is the mutant known as DARKSTAR! Able to control the malevolent power of The Darkforce Dimension, she has been a member of The X-Men, The Champions, as well as Russia’s #1 superhero team – The Winter Guard! But, tsarinas, you must surely know all of this already, for you have decided to enter this thread in order to offer your support to this wonderful character.

The essential place to start for all Darkstar fans would be The Champions. Her first appearance was in The Champions #7, where she was created by the incomparable Tony Isabella and George Tuska. She began her comics career as a villain, but quickly became a great hero. She joined The Champions, and later was asked to represent the entirety of Russia during The Contest Of Champions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contest_of_Champions).

Since then she has fought Iron Man, worked with ROM, saved the Earth from Dire Wraiths, and had her own headlining miniseries written by David Gallaher and drawn by Steve Ellis! She is the original and best.... but we also reserve this thread for saluting the good work of Darkstar II - Sasha Roerich - and Darkstar III - Reena Stancioff!
