Also, the PSP comes with a batterly life of 5 hours and a easily breakable screen and button layout.

But hey if you want to waste your money on this crap then fine.

A co-worker of mine came back from Europe 3 weeks ago with one of these.

Needless to say, he has a lot of new best friends.

It really is an amazing piece of technology. He put some TV shows on it to watch during our slower times, and the video games are neat as well.

A buddy of mine who has been a die-hard Sega fan since birth and has always been anti-establishment, meaning he hates Microsoft and Sony, had guy at work import a PSP over. Now none of you folks know this gentlemen but he is pretty harsh towards most PSII owners referring to us a "lemmings" and he has been pretty critical of the PSONE and PSII. He owns a GameCube and X-box out of the current machines, though he pretty much has all the game systems from the last 15 yrs. But I digress, anyhew when he saw the PSP he was amazed and he said that the PSP is probably going to be the nail in Nintendo's coffin because the Gameboy was their cash cow and this looks like this is going to anihilate it. He says the graphics look better than a PSII because of the compact screen, the movie player was seamless which was the real shocker for him and he said that there was no noticable lag time for loading. The machine felt good in the hands only drawback that he noticed was that it smudges easily and it is NOT something that you want to drop because it doesn't look very sturdy. Until he saw it he did not buy into the hype but now he had a hands-on he says it is a must by. I just like to get the take of the Nintendo junkies out there. ;)

It's all about the games, and unfortunately the DS has yet to really prove itself. The PSP definitely has a shot at this.

In any case, the GBA SP is a near-perfect device with thousands of games at less than half the cost of the PSP and I don't expect it to vanish any time soon.

The real test is to see how the GBE (rumored name for the next true Gameboy) does.

That said, there is no coffin for Nintendo. Even if Sony manages to steal a sizable amount of the handheld market, that certainly won't fortell doom and gloom for a company that makes over 500 million in profits every year.

I am a little concerned about the UK release.

The preliminary price over here is looking to be £200, that's at today's conversion rate about $300 or more. I feel we may be getting ripped off more than everywhere else in the world.

I was hoping is the predicited below $200 was correct, then that converts to about £150 or less.

I may not even by it as i expected on release. :(

And here I thought on such a small board we wouldn't get a single troll (other than that one guy), but I guess I was wrong.
