I'm fine with the art. I don't think its bad at all.
I sthe Thunderbolts time traveling arc over now. Can I pick this title back up again.
I hope they make this premiss work cause after the failings of the Raft and the Thunderbolts, I don't know why the government, the Avengers and namely Cage would think this team is a good idea. I mean do we take convicts in the real world and place them on black ops teams. No and for good reason

The art is okay for me, reminds me a little of Chris Samnee ..
I'd love to see MACHINE MAN added to the team, Parker did a great job on him between the pages of HULK, and I'd love to see him interacting with Zatanna (wonder whom of these two would make of the other a sex toy at first, ...anyway) and I'm also very interested about Man-Thing' fate..Though Marvel is DCing more than they will ever admit

And honestly, I didn't previously know much about Skaar. I read the recent arc in "New Avengers" though, and found him pretty interesting.
Shalvey did himself a huge disservice if his only exposure to Skaar was the recent arc in "New Avengers." Pick up something written by Greg Pak, man . . . anything written by Greg Pak that features Skaar.

I'm going to be jumping on at issue 175 with the title switch because I'm interested in how this Dark Avengers squad interacts since they weren't given too much to do in New Avengers besides gets beat.
I am sick of the Thor clone. First he survived getting his head smashed by Hercules, then he survives getting trashed by Thor and THEN he survives getting trashed by the New Avengers. The guy just won't go away. I mean, how are you going to make his personality differ ANY from Thor?
I also love Jeff Parker's Hulk, so I'm looking forward to seeing how Parker works with this team.
As for the art, it could be worse, but it could be better. Not a deal-breaker for me.

And STOP with the Avengers pastiche villains!! They suck! All of them. If villains cannot stand on their own without trying to be like heroes, then they are not worth ink.

I have officially dropped TB's as of issue 173...I do not care at all for any of the Dark Avengers rejects and While Shalvey's art isn't bad and I have come to tolerate it, ...I am not paying 3,00 for just ten pages of art and characters I like...presuming that they are doing the half DA/Shalvey and half TB's/Walker issue structure that was reported a while ago.

Well, to be fair, Pym is at best a tertiary supporting character in Secret and a supporting character to the kids in Academy, so a third supporting role isn't exactly out of the bounds of reason.

are TB fans really going to let some of their favourite characters go into limbo because of a title change?

Parker has enough credit with me, that I will give the first issue a shot, even though the name change along with the continued numbering is pretty much a spit in the face of long time Thunderbolts fans. But if I really can't stand the new additions to the cast, I may bounce even if the story of the time lost Thunderbolts is still up in the air like it looks to be.
Well, to be fair, Pym is at best a tertiary supporting character in Secret and a supporting character to the kids in Academy, so a third supporting role isn't exactly out of the bounds of reason.
Actually, given all the character development and some times outright focus he gets in Academy, you can very well call him a main character in that book.

I actually really liked the Tbolts in time story, but this preview doesn't make me very excited about the future of the series. Plus the name change seems a bit unnecessary, IMO.

Okay, so let me get this straight.
- Thunderbolts becomes Dark Avengers at 175 and will star the Dark Avengers that Osborn assembled for the storyline that ran in Avengers and New Avengers earlier this year.
- The team will be lead by Luke Cage who will be supported by Songbird and Hank Pym.
- The book will still focus on the Time Travel Thunderbolts (who I've personally grown tired of) and will alternate between the two teams every issue?
Is there anything else I'm missing?

Have stoped reading Thunderbolts when the Time jumping storyline started but now it seems the story have gotten interesting again.
Will likely, get at least the 175 issue at least.

Great book with great characters and great art.
I read it in TPBs so I am stuck waiting for a while on this big change up, but so far I really enjoy it.
Though, I would like to see more of USAgent in the book.
The art team of Kev and Declan is outstanding. Each man gives the impression that he's a real "artist's artist."
Keep up the quality work and I will be willing to forgive the silly name change.

Speaking for myself, yes. This feels like the Fightbolts all over again, to me (even if it's not quite the same). This time at least they're changing the name, but I find it really hard to believe they're still going to be putting out a book that's going to be about the TBolts when they're calling it Dark Avengers. It's ridiculous to think it's not going to actually be more about the Dark Avengers.
And truthfully, even if it is really 50-50, that's still 50 percent of a book that's going to be about characters I have -- at *best* -- no interest in (and in the case of Luke Cage, hope die off panel). Unless Marvel wants to give me the book for half-price, that just doesn't seem like a good deal to me.
Shame, as I just started getting TBolts again after it stopped being a Luke Cage title. But there's not enough Songbird, and I don't need her playing second-fiddle to a bunch of knockoffs of characters that already have too many knockoffs, not to mention having to see Pym kowtow to Cage too now.

I'm curious to know if they will be calling themselves "Dark Avengers". That would strike me as very odd.Doubtful since they had never called themselves the Dark Avengers to begin with, only the Avengers. So chances are, they'll just call themselves the Thunderbolts.
Also, based on the preview pics, was June actually doing magic? Since when could she do that, cuz it never made any sense why she of all people was Dark Scarlet Witch. Nice to see that Dark Spider-Man got web shooters though.

I noticed that too. June never had magic. She just had really warped genetic experiments.
Maybe she has some wrist-mounted whatsits that give off a light show.
Seems quite promising. The situation with Clor and the rest of them still reminds me of the Reddmers and their eventual fate. Oh well, we'll wait and see.
Mach-V becoming more prominent to the story would be most welcome too.

I despise hyper realistic art but I also do not enjoy Shalvey's art. I understand it's his style, but it just looks rushed, unfinished and lacks detail. I greatly enjoy Walker's art though.
(some of my favorite artists include Ottley, Guillory, Ramos and Wegener, to demonstrate I enjoy non hyper realistic art)

well I must be the last man on earth thrilled about these Dark Avengers..
I never completely liked the idea to make some of the most interesting vilains of the MU (Fixer, especially) these nice and polished and fashionized..dunno,things.
I only started to get interested about TB with Ellis and Deodato' run which is a total masterpiece -something Marvel still didn't reach despite having Mike D everywhere, I'll never claim it enough..so I'm totally okay for these new misfits (Dark Spidey ?? yes baby, sure.. Clor?..darling, I didn't dare to ask... Skaar ?? girl you really got me now...).. The very last thing that anoys me is John Walker' fate, but it seems he tooks his decision.. Well, dunno, I'd like to see someone in the US AGENT uniform anyway, rather than Luke Cage leading the team.. I think he shouldn't have been put too far out from NA.. Not saying it isn't working, but it just feels a little throated to me..

yeah, guess I prefered the first one actually..I'm convinced "a" Fixer is more interesting as a vilain, and that a TB-team should remain nothing else excepted a bunch of bad-asses... I remember having read in interview that Tom B dreams often to add Cable to the Avengers..I think in contrary Cable would be perfect for such roster

I feel like this book definitely needed some sort of revamp, but going with Bendis latest Dark Avengers is not the answer in my opinion. The time-travelling stuff seems to have been going on for WAY too long and solo issues about Songbird/Cage have not been enough to make the series good, especially when they don't seem to be building back to a connected story. Also, this art is not good. Not bad, but not good. It's very bland if you ask me.
