I'm actually enjoying this title more than before.

I thought that after the things that happened in issue 7 I would lose interest (and hate) the new direction of this book, but the characterization is stronger than ever and the interaction keeps being entertaining.

Not to mention that the inclusion of Batwing and OMAC to the roster makes me much more invested on the future of the team and so far their portrayals have been great.

I think I will also buy the Firestorm issue to see how this ends.

Yeah, its actually pretty enjoyable. OMAC on the team is a big plus and I like how they're continuing his whole story in the book.

does August Genreal and Iron do anything this issue?

Does Jurgens have BAtwing utilizr any of his armors weapons? Does BAtwing do anything this issue?

Does Huy Gardner actually come off competent like in the GLC title?

Do any of the heroines other than Godiva contribute to this title?

Are we still getting the Batman and Booster Gold show?

Not in battle but he was helping OMAC to feel better and compared his condition to Kevin's.

They both defeated OMAC.

Nope, they're still in the hospital but Godiva here was great.

Are we still getting the Batman and Booster Gold show?

Nope again, all the characters had a nice moment to shine.

I can't judge the issue because I haven't read it for myself, but despite everyone saying good things I'm still a little hesitant. If I keep hearing good things from a variety of posters than yes I will jump back on.

its all good I'm pretty scared about issue 11 it says that someone will die and I know its going to be August General which would probably cause me to drop the title if that happened since he looks like the sympathetic force and heart of this team

Yeah, I hope that nobody from the team dies again since I like them all. Still, the dolicitation is pretty ambiguous, it might be refering about one of the villains.

I didn't enjoy the past three issues but this one was great I thought the fight with OMAC was very good, did anyone else think iron man when guy made that suit or was it just me

Nope, they're still in the hospital but Godiva here was great.
I thought Godiva was useless dont get me wrong I like her but didn't last very long against OMAC I like that she knows she's in way over her head and maybe doesn't belong on the team

IMO, Godiva is useless. I would never pick her over any of the other females we lost.

Yeah Godiva is useless, but I am still enjoying this book. Might not be a fan favorite lineup but I like the new additions.

Still not enjoying this book. It just doesn't seem like Jurgens has a purpose here. Or if he does, he's certainly not making me care about it. The characters just keep being moved from Point A to Point B as the plot dictates. All the characters just ring a bit hollow too - when I put this book down I just feel...nothing. My love of Booster can only take me so far.

First off, I loved this JLI series from the start and continue to do so! Issue # 9 was better than the last one IMO, although it also had its weaker points...

What I adored (and always have adored in this title) was the characterization of Lady Godiva, Booster Gold and Guy. Usually I also like how the August General in Iron is written, but he didn't really had any occasion to shine in this issue (other than comforting O.M.A.C., that is)... Which is a shame, because he's my fav male member of the team. On the other hand, I thought that Guy rocked - utilising the ring to create an Iron Man suit and then fighting with it against a DC version of Hulk, now that's a nice touch!

Godiva being my fav female JLI-member (and overall one of my fav women in the DCnU), I was really happy with her getting a bit of narration. It was awesome that she was still shocked with Gavril's death; it felt very human and natural since she's new to the whole high-profile superheroing. I especially liked her conversation with Booster on the way to Paris - it's moments like this that I feel are missing in Johns' Justice League...

Many say that Dora is useless to the team and well, I kinda agree: power-wise, or rather ability-wise, she's weak (so far). But she's also an interesting character that I truly sympathize with - and I prefer that over a hero with nothing more to him than a cool power. Plus I'm sure that she'll get a better grasp of her capacities, sooner or later.

Now to the faults of ish # 9... Jabare asked if Batwing does something impressive and I gotta answer with no. I adore Batwing in his own series, so I was happy to see him in another of my fav DCnU comics. I thought that his introduction in previous issue was OK, but this time around... I really had a feeling that David was written as if he was a Robin, not Batwing. All he did was listening to Batman and doing what Bats told him to do. And that was NOT cool. Actually, it was just as irritating as Jurgens under-using the ladies of the team (other than Dora, that is).

But back to the good points: I didn't mind O.M.A.C. and by the end of the issue, I even sort of liked him. That's good, 'cause I thought he's gonna annoy me, being a weird-looking copy of Hulk and all.
The villains were pure 90's, it made me laugh. The video game kid was so out of place with the ever-grim Breakdown that it was hard to take any of them seriously. And I'm not sure it's a good thing since this group should appear to the reader as truly evil, what with them killing Rocket Red...

But to end this post with another high point, I have to say I absolutely love art on it! I noticed that Aaron Lopresti draws every girl with the same face, but I don't really mind, 'cause it's a very beautiful face. I especially adore (surprise, surprise!) his Godiva and August General, plus he sure knows how to do the splash pages with heroes getting ready to action!

All in all, I enjoy JLI very much and can't wait to read the next issue.

I guess I'll get to judge for myself now that it's crossing over with a book I am reading.

Personally I wonder if we are ever going to find out why Legion Lost's Flight Rings aren't working but Booster's Ring is just fine.

Yeah, me too, I dropped Firestorm (after issue # 2), but I'm thinking about picking it up again if the crossover with JLI will be good.

I did not follow Legion Lost, but the legion's flight ring works in AC.

I liked this issue, especially the addition of OMAC. I just hope they don't drag out the behind the scenes villain thing for two long. Heroes running around not knowing who they are fighting or why can get old fast. And these days I've seen stories like this dragged out for months and months.

For next issue: Not being a reader of Firestorm, what do i need to know about him and the two other characters to make sense of what happens?
(Another complaint, in the past I would have faith that the writer or editor would fill me in enough to know what is going on, these days it is assumed the reader should know every detail about the history of every character in every comic)

I was really ready to drop this book but I'm sticking around as long as OMAC is a part of this team. Pretty damn funny seeing Guy change into an Ironman-like construct and hit OMAC with Thor's hammer! OMAC's dialogue did have that Silver Age Hulk feel. Decent issue though the villains are pretty weak.

Loved this issue. The fight with OMAC was good, and I really liked Godiva's characterization. She might actually be my favorite member of the team. People are kind of right that she is useless from a technical standpoint, but she brings certain humanity to the book that the other heroes lack.

So I'm jumping onboard the JLI train with this issue, and found it to be pretty cool. Without being excessively comedic, it manages to have its laughter-inducing moments; and even Batman who seems so out of place helps ground the title to the serious aspect of it. Love Lopresti's art.

I got onto JLI from last issue with the introduction of OMAC so am sticking to this series now since I kind of like the cast.

Will try to give some detail on it though I think I can sum it up as:
Firestorm involves the creation of the Firestorm Protocols that allows individuals to manipulate matter. The intention was to provide the technology to every nuclear nation to create their own Firestorm. However, the technology has been stolen and there are rogue terrorist Firestorms that explode and destroy large chunks of cities. The ones seen in the end of the issue are Jason Rusch who is one Firestorm and the other is France's own version called Firebird who are trying to stop a terrorist Firestorm in the background.
