I think everyone is looking forward to the Smashing Pumpkins show in St. Paul on Tuesday.
I have tried to listen to at least 5 of their reunion shows lately and boy does Billy suck these days. Its like they lost all the balls they had on albums like Gish and Siamese Dream and instead are trying to be some bad goth band.
I saw them numerous times here in their hometown of Chicago, at teeny tiny venues and it was like noone else at the time, but now, even if you gave me tickets I wouldn't go.

I really don't think they're gonna make it down here this time. But from what I've read about the rehearsals, you're in for a great show, with perhaps a surprise or two in the setlist.

General internet consensus is that Billy and therefore the Pumpkins suck. Still, I found their concert to be a great experience. Each song was a 10 minute tour de force. I liked the fact that most of the songs were reworked from their album stuff. The Zietgiest stuff is awsome live.
Billy's voice was shakey at times but the light show (Spectacular! Better than Tool or any other spectacle band you can think of), and the instrumentals were top notch. They played 2.5 hours of sonic fury with, lights blazing the whole time.
It was excess to be sure, but its a rock show. I liked it anyway.

Fuck yeah. Deerhunter might be my favorite band right now.

I hope I'm still around to catch them. They were supposed to be playing in town in March, but I think there were health problems which led to the delay.

We saw Razorlight Saturday night. Its a place that may hold 500 people max. they were amazing. I went in curious how their songs would translate live, and they completely blew away expectations. Johnny Borrell, the lead singer, is like a young Mick Jagger, with all of his activity on stage. He totally enraptured the audience.
I cannot recommend their show high enough.

I don't get out much anymore, but Saturday night I'm going out to see local "streetgrass" band The .357 String Band. If you like punk and/or traditional country and bluegrass (none of that noodly newgrass shit), check these guys out. They're on the road seemingly nine months out of the year (which makes it great to see them again, they've gone from playing any basement, street festival, bar in town that'll have them to only being able to play locally a couple times a year) so they'll be playing a bar in your area soon.
