BPRD: THE PICKENS COUNTY HORROR #1 looks like it's going to be amazing. Note that Scott Allie is the co-writer.

However, BPRD: The Long Death #1: reads far too familiar. It's like they've written the same damn story for the tenth time. Mignola's writing has really taken a down turn in quality for the past seven years. He's become far too formulaic. And Arcudi has the same problem.

It's only when Mignola teams up with writers OTHER THAN Arcudi that we get something new.

The Hellboy Universe has been really disappointing of late.
