Regular poster and comic dealer extraordinaire koop, as well as myself, ArchivalGrading, will be set up with platinum, golden, silver, bronze, modern, new, and other comics, magazines, DVDs, anime, trades, 25 cent comics, toys, Heroclix, and other assorted goodies....

Ask for me, say you're from CBR, and get a free new comic at my table! I'll have extra free passes as well.

The promoters are good guys, and I'd love to get a con here in the city on a regular basis. Hope some of you guys in D.C., Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania (Philly, Pitts, Delaware, etc. can make the trip. You can even crash at my place if you need to....

Thanks, Tom, for letting me post this.

How did I miss this?

At least I didn't miss the show.

When I went out to start my van at 5:15 am Sunday morning I feared the worst. It was all doom and gloom because of the fresh snow and sleet. I even called the promoter on his cel at 5:27 am to make certain they were going thru with the show ...and they were.

I gotta tell you, sometimes it pays to just go ahead and do what you say you're going to do. As it turns out the show was excellant. Not many dealers but plenty of attendees and they stayed all day long. I had a great show and it really made my already cake-life even cakier.

Kudos to Joe and Jamie for doing a great job orgranizing and promototing this show. I plan on doing their future shows.

Ray and Koop: Thanks for the kind words.

My partner and I are comic book collectors and dealers. Last year we decided we would like to return a recurring comic book convention to downtown Washington. As best as we could tell, there had not been a comic book convention in the District is at least 20 years and maybe over thirty.

We decided in our infinite wisdom to have our first show on January 30th. We worked hard to bring in some great guest artists. As you know, snow brings our fair city to a halt and as luck would have it, snow arrived the night before and continued during the day of the show. We thought the show was going to be a bust.

Despite the weather, nearly 500 people attended our January Washington DC Comic-Con. While a few of our guest artists and venders canceled because of the weather, Frank Brunner, Michael Kaluta, and John Snyder III were all in attendance and busy beyond our 5 PM closing with fans and sketch requests.

Because of the reception that the show had in bad weather, we have decided to host two more Washington DC Comic-Cons this year in warmer weather. Our next show will be May 29, 2005 at the Marriott at Metro-Center. We are currently finalizing our guest list and will announce them soon.

You can find out more about the show at www.capitolcollectibles.com. If you have questions about the show or would like to receive a flyer, please contact me at jamie@capitolcollectibles.com.
