You know Dan's given Spidy a lot of new costumes since Big Time but it fits very well with him working for Horizon Labs.

I'm all for Spidey getting a tech costume/armor but that design is fugly, and I like Iron Spider

Mostly because they both have shoulder pads.

Probably it's a special occasion costume. It's like the various armors that Iron Man uses certain crises! The anti sinister six costume if you like!

Yeah pretty much. Dan also said that Spider-man has made weapons just to take out each member and one is in 679.1
