I mean lately it seems like the so-call "Prince of lies" isn't living up to his namesake...
I mean asking for Spider-man's marriage in the dreaded OMD storyline to asking a date from Magma of the New Mutants during the Fear Itself Crisis to even asking for Johnny Blaze's help on the new Ghost Rider.
Seriously when are we going to be getting the old lying, back-stabbing, soul-stealing Mephisto again ?

After people forget about OMD and VOMIT, to do otherwise would point out how stupid those stories were

Read Journey Into Mystery.
Specifically the first arc.

The one that starts in the bar? Like that one.
There was a time when Mephisto was really scary. The ASM OMD/OMIT just didn't seem worthy of him IMO. Breaking up a marriage is too tame and should be something a lower level demon should be doing. Maybe I watched "Charmed" too much.
I'm obviously prejudiced but IMO the best use of the character was in Byrne's FF when Franklin made him "go away" for a while and in Roger Stern's "Triumph and Torment"

next time he's in a movie, Mephisto should be played by Jeff Goldblum.

I was thinking David Bowie (only cuz he's a better actor than Mick Jagger) but yours works better, I think.

When a writer wants to use him in a story as a soul stealer.

He also possessed Agatha Harkness in a Silver Surfer story.

From the Goblin King in Labyrinth to the Prince of Lies? That's a step up (or down, deeper into the netherworld).

I like that he's branching out into new, douchier areas of deviltry.
He's basically trolling the Marvel Universe, at this point.

Branching out is fine, but I've seen scarier trolls on secretaries' desks.
