really remind us just how few pages the writer and artist have to work with
and when you get to the last page and find out that the next six or seven are just ads

you feel like the story ended just as you got into it

i don't mind two page spreads their kinda cool and prevent any of the ads from distracting you while reading it

though as i said sadly it's nothing more than a reminder of how fast comic book stories fly by....

if only they had a few more pages but guess i can settle for two page spreads whenever their involved

It's pretty much the only problem with the book.

But those spreads are so gorgeous, I dont even care

The two page spreads can be pretty intriguing, especially since they're not just a big two-page splash that looks pretty but contributes next to nothing to the overall story.

The spreads have also been packed with detail and resonance and story. It's not like they blew up a magic marker drawing on a stickynote to appropriate size, then tried to sell it as two pages of comics.

And, I think the abrupt endings have been, so far, wholly intentional. That one where Batwoman gets jerked into the water and bang, we're done until next month, that's a fabulous issue/chapter break, it's a cliffhanger without even the reassuring beat of her clinging on for life or what have you.

I think it's the defining feature of the book so far, it's what's made it different to the other bat books for me.

Didn't you already do a thread complaining about this?

This.

And this.

The double page spreads are beautiful and work really well as individual scenes.

if the only plus is them sticking all the ads in the back, it's a win for me.

that said, they have panels in them, so, it's not like it's all silent splash pages.

I'm not complaining about anything....i already stated i didn't mind the spreads

but that it always reminds me of how few pages there really are

Well, if they just removed some of those "useless" pages of ads and such, we'd have a thinner but more expensive book . . . even without having an increase in the story count.

I love the artwork and the spreads are part of that. Now if we could just do something abou that writing...

I've caught myself spending more time on those 2-page spreads than I have reading entire books.
