Who else picked up the new ongoing from Edmondson and Gerads? I thought #1 was a very strong start to the series. It didn't grab me like Jake Ellis #1 but I can't fault a comic for not being that good.
I like the design of the book, from the logo and font to the way the locations are presented. It all sets the tone effectively and keeps you immersed in the story.
Gerads' art is new to me and I thought it was damn good. His style seems like a great fit for the book. The only thing I really did not like was the flame effects in the office. Those sucked. Mitch, if you read this, I am sure there are going to be plenty of explosions and fire and stuff in future issues--step your incendiary game up! Otherwise though, kickass work.
Nathan seems to be at home telling globe-hopping espionage stories. I'm glad that this is an ongoing so he can stretch a bit more with regards to long-form plot threads. There is only so much you can do in the five or six issues of a mini.
Incidentally, my favorite part of the issue was that an error was corrected between the time the preview ran on CBR and the issue shipped. Way to be on the ball, editors!

I picked it up on a whim and really enjoyed it. Only other thing I've read by Nathan Edmondson is Grifter which I'm finding a bit average so I was pleasently surprised.
Did a good job of setting up the premise so i'm looking forward to next issue to see how things will progress.

Nathan asked me to put this here since he can't log in or something. Originally posted by him here http://heavyink.com/forums/1/topics/2825

I really like that the series seems to be done-in-one stories. It's a nice breath of fresh air next to all the long storied comics I read.

I've read three things by Nathan (Who is Jake Ellis?, Grifter, and Activity) and love them all. Can't wait for more Jake Ellis, though I'm dropping Grifter now because the character seems silly ... and Liefeld is coming in.

See, I love the idea of the activity in terms of the realistic portrayal of of spec ops etc and the visuals are awesome but I'm just not a big fan of procedural stories and always gravitate towards long form storytelling thats building towards somethings bigger. So its kind of held me back from grabbing this book (and near death actually). I am keeping a close eye on it though and hope it does well, this is something we need in comics.

Chances are it'll end up being canceled if you do that.

Well, if I don't buy it because its not told in a style I want to read and it gets cancelled, then I'm not exactly going to be gutted am I ;) I still think the book looks great, and I have picked up Nate's other books, so I have a clean conscience. Thought it was worth articulating why I might not buy this book though despite thinking it looks cool. I was kind of hoping someone might jump in and tell me its not as procedural as I thought or something, but whatever.

I'm still waiting for my first 2 issues to show up.
I think it is done in one with an over arcing story.. which can get annoying. I just hope it does pull a WIJE? and completely bombs the third issue so hard I drop it.

Really enjoying this series. Its like a Comic spook version of The Unit from TV. Very much looking forward to future issues! It was either The Activity or PIGS, and glad I ended up going with this.

LOVING this series! I picked up issues 1-3 because the premise and artwork looked good and I'm glad I did. Can't wait for more.
*SPOILERS*
quick question on issue 2 - did they totally spray acid on that guys face and melt it to screw up his identity?

I like it. Don't love it (like Jake Ellis), but it's pretty good, the art is great, the setting is fun. Now it needs to get a real story going (just read #1-2) to really grab me.

Is this a mini or an ongoing? I've flipped through the first issue and it looked pretty cool. I'll probably get the trade when it comes out.

Wow. Picked up both #1 & 2 on a hunch on the day #2 came out and it's really good. Reminds me of the show The Unit which was cancelled way too soon. Keep em coming!!
The Art is really cool too. Anyway, this has made me decide to get Dancer when it comes out and to find something people keep telling me about called Jake Ellis?
3 issues in and I'm a fan of these dudes.

I skimmed through PIGS at my LCBS and within the first several pages it turned me off with the writing and language. Mostly the language just felt over the top, uneccessary, and frankly, unrealistic. I didn't have those issues with The Activity.

I'm really digging this book. I met Nathan at a con earlier in the year, nice guy. Just wondering how is this book doing? Can we expect to see it around for awhile and what about Dancer?

Not a lot of activity in this thread (har har), but I just read the first tpb and I couldn't figure out what the retaliatory prank ISA pulled on the other guys was at the end of the issue. Did they paint on a satellite dish or what? It's insignificant since the point is they got them back, but it's bugging me to no end that the art is so hard to decipher in that page, so if someone can explain, it would help put me at ease. Thanks!

They just stuck a big satellite dish in their room because they are signal intelligence. That was the prank.
Actually I have a question about the same issue (#2). What exactly did the gas weatherman released do to Zeus? Something about wiping him from the history of the isa? It seems like there is dialogue missing from my digital copy of this issue or something.

Met Mitch Gerads this weekend and bought both trades. Really enjoyed the book and look forward to picking up more.
