The most depressing thing about Comics books and especially animated TV series like the X-Men is that they do not really exist in the real world.
Benevolent and kind-hearted beings with supernatural or magical powers simply don't exist outside of the computer screen or the Television screen.
God and Satan are perhaps the only supernatural beings that do exist in the real world and that have the power to interfere in the real world but they do nothing. Satan probably just watches people from afar and enjoys seeing humans cry and suffer endlessly in a world that he created.
This is what I find to be the most depressing thing about the Comics business.
