the original

Yes, the first for me too.
Never saw the point of the second one really.
Strucker was mildly interesting till he was used to prove how badass Norm is.
But ultimately the original had a tragic ending to a strange story, and was a genuinely interesting character under Englehart's pen.

Andreas vonStrucker. Brilliant character. Such incredible untapped potential! :frown:

I went for Andreas because
a) I liked the costume redesign
b) I thought he had a lot of potential (that was sadly never fully reached)
c) most importantly, he didn't have that moustache
Andreas death in Dark Reign was weaksauce. Such a waste of a decent character. He could've been used so much better in Dark Reign too.

Phil J. was the first one I read, so him.

The original Swordsman

It was just such a stupid waste not to keep the orignal alive after Chaos War (and Yellowjacket II also). He was just written so well in the Dead Avengers mini. I would have loved to see more of him.

Can I say Taskmaster?

I went Andreas as he was the first, and really only, one I was exposed to. I liked his look, the and powers, no matter how crazy jacked up they were, LoL!!

Andreas for me.
Was never really that fond of the first two and Andreas was a lot more interesting.

I went with PJ.
He's the only Swordsman who hadn't really done anything irredeemable in my eyes. Maybe he did do everything Duquesne did on his world, but it was never fully made clear. All we know was he more or less always acted the hero.
Duquesne- We know he wasn't a hero to begin with, and atonement is fine and all, but he'd gone to far down the villian side for my comfort.
Andreas-Coolest looking costume perhaps, but the worst one of all. Incestous Nazi supervillian.......pass

My knowledge on the era is fleeting at best... but didn't Javert/Jarvert (which is the correct spelling, anyone?) along with the Gatherers kill a whole bunch of Sersii from other realities?

Yes, but if I recall correctly he was tricked by Proctor into thinking Sersi was the one to blame for everything. So when he found out he turned on Proctor. It's been awhile, but I remembering it being something like that.

The 2nd one because that's the one I was introduced to when I started to read comics.
Although isnt the Cotati Swordsman considered the 2nd Swordsman?

Dane Withman, the Black Knight is the greatest swordsman of the MU. That being said, I think the original is the most interesting of the three (but I kinda liked all of them).

I came in to this thread looking to vote for Dane Whitman... but I guess that wasn't a choice.
Once I did see the choices, I expected to be the only person voting for Phillip Javert. It's not that I disliked the original (just found him a little on the boring side) or Andreas (his tenure as Swordsman was the only time I found the character interesting), but I just felt that PJ and Magdalene have so much untapped potential and would love to see more of them. I've always thought it would be great to see them show up in the Squadron Supreme universe, or Exiles.

ALWAYS wondered why he was drawn so so similar to Bullseye as Hawkeye in that issue...
I voted for the guy who decided to wrap the hilt of his sword with the skin of his dead twin sister.

that psycho strucker was the most interesting out of the choices.

Am I the only one that would like to see the three Swordsman to return?
The Original because of his history with Clint and the old Avengers. And his sword had the same faculty as the Mandarin's rings.
The second because he comes from another reality and there's untapped potential with him. The World needs more french heroes.
The Third because he had such a cool outfit and he was so delisiously ruthless.
