Gee, that's nice I'll have to check it out.
Lucky you if you get to pimp. I used to post pimp threads for my column, but now I only do it in the signature.

Hey, my very own thread all about me. That's kinda like having my name up in lights, right?
Seriously though, thanks for flexing your pimp hand, rogue (I'm not comfortable doing it myself). And thanks for the compliments about the work. I appreciate hearing responses like that, since I'm a perfectionist and hate three quarters of what I've done. Since it's out there now, I truly would appreciate any feedback you guys might have. Positive and negative. Because, while the positive builds my confidence, the negative will help me improve.
I've had talks with at least one syndicate so far and I've been offered a development deal, which potentially leads to syndication. They struck early, so I'm still waiting to see what the other syndicates have to say about my submissions.
Again, thanks for the push, rogue. It's always nice to know the stupid stuff I cook up has some appeal outside of my own head.

Good to know that good things might be headed your way, monkeysweat.

Holy poop. This is one of the best drawn web comics I've seen!
(Okay, given the state of most web comics, I admit that isn't saying much, but the art is not only downright professional and I love the nuanced facial expressions which are just fantastic. Very good job Monkeysweat.)

For those that were feeling the strip, I added a few more instalments.

Somehow I feel like they're less funny. But, really, they can't all be home runs.
Wow, that's a cool strip. Good designs, GREAT colors.
who knew? under our noses (or under M. Sweat's posts) all along?
Stuff's loading kind of slow for me...I'm going to have to try again in a few moments...

loved the one with Cory's parents :D
The adventures of College Cory are funny and also insightful. I never realized the extent of human-on-alien discrimination.

And still more... http://planetcory.com/album/index.htm
I'm gonna have to take these down soon. The syndicate I signed with isn't too keen on having my stuff on the 'net. Potential plagiarists and such. They haven't told me to take it down, but they've strongly suggested that it would be a good idea. So, we'll see.

Cool, you're syndicated!
Well, it's a development deal. There's no guarantee of syndication. But it's a million steps closer than most people get, so I'm grateful for that.

any plans on collecting these in a tpb format? I'd love to take these around and show my friends, but my printer sucks the balls.

Well, I'd have to wait and see how the syndication situation works out, but they'll definitely be collected. It's just a question of whether it'll be with syndicate muscle behind me or on my own out the back of a car trunk.

But do you get money from it? If so, sweetness. Either way, very cool just getting signed. That's hard enough as it is.

You know I'm gonna have to take some mucho pics of you before you blow up, that way I can prove that I knew you when.
The new stuff look great.
I'm really impressed with this too:

Since, for the time being, the cloak of secrecy prevents me from posting more strips online, I figured I'd use this thread to show the other stuff I draw.
This is a character called Amazula, created by my boy, Kris (who coincidentally has the post directly above this one).

Awesome technique you're using there in the coloring texturing.
Really nice, overall.
I would suggest that you go right over your name with the colors though...just to integrate it more into the image.

Thanks. You monkey around with Photoshop enough and you'll find enough ways to make things look interesting.

That's kinda my thing, though, where the name on the white background interrupts the flow of the artwork. I first did it when once the color was too dark to see the sig. I thought it looked cool, so it's been my thing ever since.

Sorry for the thread resurrection, but I thought it'd be a good time to do it. On today's Comics Reporter (http://comicsreporter.com), Tom Spurgeon has a story (http://www.comicsreporter.com/index.php/boondocks_hiatus_pushes_up_debut/) on Cory Thomas (monkeysweat, natch) and his strip Watch Your Head.
Congrats, monkeysweat!
