But those clones were extensions of Iceman himself and he was utterly defenseless.

It was total PIS. That's why I can never buy Iceman's 'feats' they always have an assist or PIS. This instance just proved that without PIS and Cannonball Sunfire would have annihilated him in Legacy.

The tenacity and energy you're spending on debunking one of the many great feats Iceman has done, should be rechanneled towards convincing us of any note worthy potential Sage has unleashed lately.

I think you were missing the bigger picture... Iceman was each and every one of those ice manifestations. Notice how he's talking through all of them at the same time. His consciousness was travelling through all of them simultaneously... As for Lockheed, he just fried one of the clones, big deal. That moment was done to get a laugh out of the reader.


I think the actual term for that ability would be telepresence. He first used it in the X-Men Forever mini to communicate with Jean whose telepathy was down and was located clear across the country.

As a long time Iceman fan I'm glad that he is kicking off his appearance in Wolverine and the X-Men right! Such an awesome feat.

In that mini series, they go into their past and future selves and Jean went into Dark Phoenix, original body in the cocoon, and Rachel. :tongue:

Didn't this series also show that Iceman could become vapor and travel around that way and could also reform his body from rain and other liquids if he was destroyed in ice form?

Hope they do more with cyclops ability in the future. One idea that occurred to me recently is having his extra dimensional energy be some kind of living energy like the living light in the Manga mushishi. This could explain how would give it the power to evolve and a primal nature that would be interesting. That or if cyclops were to become elemental force/light as he seems to be becoming here.

As for Cyke, I'd love for him to become the very energy he projects like in those images... Or, to be some sort of apocalyptic force, every time he opens his eyes. Kind of like the equivalent of Black Bolt of the Inhumans, every time he speaks. Maybe the extra power boost can be explained by someone (Sage, Elixir, Emma) trying to cure him of the brain damage he sustained at a young age, and it takes an unexpected turn, granting him that aditional power boost.

I think it was one of those glace-over moments where I just chalked it up as Iceman just floating around in the local area in his mist form, rather than seeing him telepresencing/teleporting himself across the country. Glad you pointed that out though.

I wonder if Aaron will do somehing like that for 616 Bobby's next feat, or will he do something completely different. I hope Aaron runs with that "I need you to be more" theme with Iceman, and comes up with a dozen or more new feats that we haven't seen yet. Or at the very least, revisit some of the one-time feats that have been forgotten over the years.
