Who should join Exiles?

I'm roleplaying a game where I play the daughter of Selene and Sebastian Shaw, codenamed Sabbat. Possesses magick, strength, and psychokinetic powers of her mother. She also boosts her strength like dad, but does it by drawing from the "worship" of others. Side effect is that her power can be potentially addictive to them.

I like the current team well enough. But I am getting a bit tired of Mimic, and hope that Sabretooth becoming a member means that Mimic's time on the team has come to an end. The only one I really dislike is Namora... she's a poor replacement for Nocturne, imho. And now that Nocturne is in limbo thanks to Austen/Marvel, I don't even know why they bothered to snatch her from Exiles. :p

You know what would be kind of cool? Would having Nocturne and Juggernaut turn up as Exiles from Limbo or have the existing team meet them in a dimension. And the mission would be to find a way to send Juggernaut back to 616 MU, because he is needed to stop some type of disaster or some such.

I'll start by saying no normal MU characters should be in it. They aren't expendible.

Now, I'd like to see many new people. The reason I like this book is the fact that people can die.

Altthough Bedard has said that Mimic, Morph and Blink are safe, which I think is wrong, all should be expendible.

But a different version of a non-mutant superhero might be good. Move this book away from it's mutant association.

The book is considered more or less an X-Book by Marvel and the writers though, so I doubt they'll move too far away from the heavy mutant cast. Especially considering it allows the dead or limbo mutant characters to have some place to appear in. At least most of the missions involve dealing with the various non-mutant teams, like the Fantastic Four and the Avengers. :)

I guess I can accept that that is true, and I do like it that the other Marvel character do appear.

You see I liked the books that were also around the team Weapon X, as they were made up of a more dynamic group of Marvel characters it may appeal to more people. I'm not saying they should put Sipdey or Wolverine in it, we see too much of them already.

But if they were to feature a different version of Ironman or Ghost Rider for example as part of the main team then it may draw fans of those character to the book.

I'd like to see Exiles go up against a team of evil Exiles(even more so than the Weapon X team). Maybe a team formed by a rival organization to the Timebrokers, designed to undo the Exiles' work. Possible line-up;

I'd personally like to see some of the Mutant X cast appear. Especially The Fallen or Bloodstorm.

I'm also partial to the Punisher that killed the marvel Universe, AOA Doom, Rebel from the Heroes reborn Universe, Manga Dr. Strange, Ghostrider 2099, the Rogue who possesed the Powers of Thor, and some version of Cypher.

If I started from scratch:

Synch- Team Leader. On his world was head of mutant police force (so kind of Bishop like)

X-Man w/the talus- loner who's forced into the Exiles to protect the spiral (alt worlds) uses the talus with his powers to 'port

Daredevil- Earth-X. Sort of comic relief and essentially imortal (perhaps learning the true nature of his powers)

Thunderstrike- MC2 where Kevin took over

Dagger- alt reality where she was forced to destory Cloak.


Doug Ramsey- Running things in the Crystal Palace. Perhaps a female Doug inorder to round out the cast.

First three though are ones I'd love to see join the real cast.

Wouldn't mind seeing Bloodstorm for Mutant X.
A Couple of non-mutants: a Black Widow who never became an Avenger, and a tougher Ultimate- type of Captain America.
Bring in Havok, of some dimension, especially since he's some nexus focus or somesuch, it would make sense.

Team 1- hunting mutant x

Leader Blink- there due to her emotional connecting to Mutant X
Morph- there because he is able to survive a attack by Mutant X
Longshot- There because of his powers
Power Princess- There for shear power




Team 2- Reality fixing team

Sorry, Tony & Paul. That's not a crack against the art talent on the series. Paul's a good storyteller. I just think you guys have not paid attention to a very specific element that makes a comic appealing, and it's hurting you.

There's nothing to tie the team together visually, create any recognizable motifs, or draw readers in. It always looks like a generic collection of random superheroes. I know that's a part of the concept--the randomness, the haphazard collection of wayward heroes. But there needs to be something to make the team visually distinctive. What that entails is up to you, depending on what you want to convey. The easiest way to do it, though, is to create a motif for the costumes. They don't have to be identical uniforms--just something to tie the characters together in readers' minds and keep the book distinctive.

To me, updating the costumes is a good way to go because (aside from my belief that a visual motif is needed) I just don't like the overly colorful costumes.

How about a Gwen Stacy that became the "Number 9" seen in Post-Inferno Daredevil issues? She regenerates damage at a rate which makes Wolverine envious, has photographic memory and reflexes, knows how to craft home-made explosives, plus drives the guys (and any dykes) on the team CRAZY with lust! As "Number 9", Gwen eventually adopted DD's vigilante stance and later became known as Mayfly.

Another possibility is "Dial H.U.S.K." from the Amalgam release X-Patrol.

How about a Tarot mystically bound to Doug Ramsey, instead of King Bedlam?

Going on some of the ideas already expressed in this thread something I would like to see is a real rival to the the Exiles(not Proteus), but a team or one person even that was the reason all of these realities are messed up. They finally find out what the true cause is and it is some major bad guy that was trying to take over the entire multiverse. It could be a Captain Britain trying to become the true ruler of the multiverse.

Also I would like to see a young Nate join the team and everyone thinks that this is who eventually grows up to be Cable, but it is actually turns out to be the clone who becomes Stryfe and he tries to sabotage their missions. He could be working with Captain Britain.

The Squadron Supreme was created to resemble the JLA since a crossover with DC couldn't happen at the time.
