Yes, I've heard it spouted before. But here it is in a new form:

Superman as Anti-Christ (http://www.supermanhomepage.com/comics/comics.php?topic=articles/superman-satan)

But this guy (who seems to embrace a lot of Christian dogmas) writes an... interesting case. I think this is quite possibly what the Capalert guy would be like if he started taking his Ginko Biloba vitamins. An articulate schizoid uber-fundamentalist.

Consider these quotes:

"So Satan may have ruled a physical civilization spanning Mars..."

"Satan... clones himself..."

He concludes that Lex Luthor represents Christianity.

And I pick up some real bigotry buried in his frequent inclusion of Siegel and Shuster's ethnicity. As if being Jewish somehow lends itself to being Satanic.

I liked the following:

"We haven't been to the moon in over thirty years according to official sources."

"according to official sources."

Implying that secret missions to the moon have taken place since then, of which the general public was not informed.

I guess we can add conspiracy theorist to the list.

I started that article thinking I was going to be scared out of my wits, but I found Thyroros to be rather well read and informative, if also as kookey as heck.

It was actually the conterpoint "Superman is the Republical Persidential candidate" to be far more interesting.

More proof that you can, quite literally, prove anything if you put your mind to it. Otherwise, explain Scientology.

But didn't feel that he was forcing alot of his ideas? I mean trying to have Superman be some equivilant of Satan is stretching things a bit. And Equating Lex Luthor with Christianity doesn't say a whole lot about Christianity.

Sure, it was well written, but at the end of the day, it was another attempt to make something out of nothing. If this guy spent half the energy that it took to research and write this article and actually wrote something with a little more substance(I mean, he is "attacking" a comic book character!) then he might have something real to say.

Hey, don't be so humble, Cam. I'm sure that one day, you'll get that government grant.....

Although, Superman vs. Jesus for the fate of Earth would make for a very cool comic book.
