The enigmatic mutant known as Pulse has the power to nullify other mutants' powers. He was introduced to the X-Men by Mystique to disrupt the relationship between Rogue & Gambit. The former cat burglar managed to aid the X-Men in a battle against Apocalypse.

Pulse wasn't a team player, and repeatedly emphasised that he was a self-serving coward. He didn't like combat situations. However, he managed to overcome his innate cowardice to nullify Apocalypse in battle long enough for the X-Men to defeat the External in battle, and later on he managed to confront Death (Gambit, who had been transformed into the Horseman) who was trying to kill Rogue.

Powers & Skills
Neutralizer
Little has been explained about the nature of Pulse's power. However, he seems to be able to nullify & neutralize the powers of other mutants. This enabled him to physically contact Rogue's skin at a time before he had gained full control of her own powers. He appears to have more control over his abilities than the Morlock Leech, and seems to be able to specifically select his target unlike the Fallen Angel Chance.
Remote Control Activation
During the fight against Death (Gambit), Pulse proclaimed that he had used Death's own ability to create poisonous gasses inside Death's body. Therefore it appears that Pulse has the ability to activate other mutants' powers and redirect them remotely.
Glowing Eyes
A physical & visual sign that Pulse is using his powers is in his eyes. The glow a golden color pulses from his eyes.
Cat Burglar
A skill that doesn't rely on his mutant powers, is the ability to break & enter into properties without being detected. Pulse is silent on his feet, deft at picking locks, and swift when making his get-away.
Come and discuss Augustus "Gus" A.K.A Pulse!

I dig how they call him "The Pulse" rather than Pulse.

Rogue's powers are what make her such a mess. Her twin brother has the inverse powers, so inverse effect.

TEYF, Rogue is a redneck. Sorry. :(
What would happen if Pulse met Leech?
I think they should be able to run into each other to create one very ugly super-mutant who dishes out new powers like candy. Or something.
Maybe they'd be friends?

You non-americans get no say! lol jk
Trust me, I KNOW rednecks when I see one (VA Is full of them -_-). Rogue is more of a stereotypical person from the deep south.

He got smart and dropped the x-men like a hot potato. Right befoe the move to San Fran and subsequently Death Island- Utopia.
I'm telling you guys, Pulse is the smartest mutant in the x-books. Marvel can't handle that level of common sense. Their minds implode

I loved Pulse. The sanest X-character there's ever been, he rightly ditched them quick, sharp. He recognised that where they go, trouble always follows. Sensible. Chap like that stays alive.

That would be exactly his cup of tea. Low-threat (from a physical danger point of view) security, potential high gain.

New to the boards - first time reading the magazine and it's awesome. Definitely drew a few chuckles!
Pulse is awesome and liked him instantly because of his very real cowardice/love/issues. He just seemed like a nice guy trying to do the right thing but the world of the X-Men was just too much, too fast.
He's taking some time off, but hopefully, he comes back with a bang! And some roses for Rogue...

Sooo... I think I might have asked this before, but what ever happened to Pulse? Did he just skip off to the land of secondary characters? I mean, most mutants are on Utopia. Why isn't he hanging around there? He could at least be wallpaper that way. :/
