Not sure which forum would be better to post this in,
but it's all just personal thoughts (Because I'm sure this would never actually happen in comics).

I was wondering what people would think of Ben Reilly being brought back and put on the roster of Peter David's X-Factor?

I don't think it would work well with Jamie being in the book, but if he were to depart, I think Ben might make an interesting replacement leader (And don't get me wrong, I love Jamie, and never want to see him replaced).

I think given the team's collective personal issues, Ben would be a cool fit. Have him lose the Scarlet Spider name and costume all together, and return him to his 'On the Road' look. But keep his Spider-Man-like sense of humor and justice.

I could see him being similiar to Jamie is many aspects, but I could also see him pissing off his team-mates a little less.

Anyway, just a thought.

It's an intriguing idea, and one I would certainly welcome.

He'd be a GREAT fit there. Would totally fit in with that group dynamic. And under PAD's pen? A dream come true!

But as it is now they ahve a very full house and even with the impending death a character they still have 2more about to join (Havok & Polaris).

Madrox
Layla Miller
Banshee
M
Strong Guy
Shatterstar
Rictor
Longshot
Wolfsbane (I'd happily trade her to the Spidey books though. She and Carlie can be best gal pals!)

plus Pip the Troll
and Darwin who's off on a sabatical.

It's a pretty full cast right now but, down the road? Be a great idea.

I'd be all for it. I can't see why he and Jamie couldn't co-exist, either. Ben doesn't strike me as a leader type.

I'm sure they could. As characters, I think they'd get along well too. I just think they may be a little too similiar in aesthetic and demeanor to have both of them kicking around at the same time. But then again, Longshot and Shatterstar also have similarities, and they generally work well together, both inside the Marvel-U, and as fictional characters on a page.

And you're right, Ben hasn't had a lot of page-time as a leader, and he wasn't a great team player during his stint on the New Warriors. But Peter Parker has done all right in the past (and present) as a leader of sorts, so I imagine Ben could pull it together as well.

I'd actually really love to see this now. Just thinking about him interacting with characters like Layla (oh she'd have fun with him), Monet, laughing it up with Strong Guy, getting flirted with by Shatterstar.

Damn that'd be awesome.

I think it'd be a great idea.

It would attract some new readers to a book that's not selling the best, while also allowing Ben Reilly the opportunity to distinguish himself from Peter Parker. And I think Peter David would do a fine job with the character.
