I have the weirdest dreams so I thought I'd start a thread for people to talk about their dreams.

For instance last night I dreamed about a death in the family(not the comic) but I never learned who it was. It was probably my grandma (mom's mom) It brought in all sorts of family members. *My dad and mom have a brother and a sister who are married to each other so the families are kinda close.

Also my mom sells homemade diapers and I had a dream that my mom had a client who for some reason had Captain Awesome from chuck living there. I didn't get to meet the dude but he was Sunbathing as we drove around the other side of the house.

My most common reoccuring dream involes me acquiring money that turns out to be fake, usually with some crude cartoon drawing or strange symbol where there should be a dead president.

There's probably some deeper meaning to be taken from that, but then again probably not.

Are you poor? I'm poor and I dream about finding money a lot. I don't know if it is fake but I am always disappointed to find out it was a dream when I wake up.

I dream that I can levitate a lot.

When I had pets, I had a recurring dream about the pets reproducing germ-style until they were bursting out of their cages, and in one case about the hamster wheel coming to life and attacking people.

I eventually took the hint and stopped having pets.

I think my dream function may be broken (or my brain). I've never had reccuring dreams, and I've never had dreams that made any sense or followed any sort of storyline for more than a few seconds. What I mean is, some people describe their dreams like "I was in my house, then a friend came over and we walked out into the backyard and played baseball (and so on, continuing with a theme)."

In my dreams, I could be riding in a helicopter, turn my head and I'll be sitting on a park bench, then get up and start walking into an abandoned factory where I meet my sister, who continues to walk with me only in the next few seconds it's my best friend, then we're jumping off a cliff into a river and it's another friend entirely who'll pull me out of the water, where I'm now in my living room watching television with nobody. All in the space of a minute (or what seems to be a minute), all with no shock registering with me that people, places, and events change fluidly with no rhyme or reason. Oh, I also dream in color but I hear from many people that they don't (which seems odd to me).

I do sometimes have bits of dreams that come back within the same dream. For instance I could end up in that same factory again, only this time I'll be chased by something. Or sitting on the park bench again, only talking to someone (who'll likely change into somebody else before the conversation finishes). I've also had dreams where I'm doing mundane, repetitive things if I've done them in real life (when I used to work at the local Borders I dreamt I was shelving books, and that seemed to last longer in dream time than other things). Kind of annoying when I realize within the dream that I'm wasting dream time doing it (not that I can control my dreams, but I can realize I'm dreaming while I'm dreaming).

I was playing a lot of Dead Island, so I had a zombie dream.

The zombies were all running through a field or something, and if you ran with them, they left you alone but if you fought with them they would attack.

I actually had a dream about Wolverine's new school last night. One of the few times in my life I've dreamed superhero stuff (established superheroes anyway).

Lately, I've been having a series of recurring dreams where I'm a part of some hipster, anti-terrorist, street dancing squad... um... as near as I can tell. We work out of a printshop. Then we get a call or get attacked and the action starts, with guns and martial arts, and everything culminates into a huge dance number. One of my teammates is a black guy with a really strange, technicolored hairdo. There's a hot chick on the team, but her description fails me, other than she's hot. Oh, and we wearing costumes that seem like they're castoffs from the Batman & Robin movie.

My dreams tend to be set in the same microcosm. They all take place in some fictional city of my own creation (but similar-looking to New Orleans). Each dream will take place is a particular district of this city, depending on the genre/feel of the dream. I seldom ever dream of people I know. My dreams tend to be intense, action- or thriller-like. I have died quite a few times in my dreams. I do dream in color. However, rarely does sound take notice.

Once upon a time many centuries ago I was part of an ancient mystic order. When our numbers were dwindling we used a technique by which we could store information that we would in later lives recollect through our dreams. Our bond made it able to contact eachother through our dreams in case we needed eachother's help, even if we died and were reborn. Our lives are different now, we have new bodies and new identities. But on a subconcious level, in our dreams we still meet.

At least this is what my dreams tell me.

The past-life friends i meet in my lucid dreams are always fully aware of the fact we are all dreaming and we exchange information, we remind eachother of our shared past, we share an emotional bond and sometimes we help eachother. One in particular is a regular, he takes on various shapes but is always recogizable as being the same person. He was my teacher in that past life.
He's shown me things I can't quite explain, objects and realities that were a multitude of things all at once, a vortex of shifting and changing images that lies behind the walls that contain our dreams, which i was certain would drive me insane if i looked upon it for more than the few seconds i did. He explained that the vortex was the means by which one could go elsewhere.

Hell of a story eh? I really should write a book based on those dreams some day.
My rational mind says I just have a very imaginative mind and have spun associations and imagery into an internal and fairly consistent personal myth.
My dream friends tell me the fact I'm rationalizing the events is out of fear and that this is what stops me from using the vortex that lies behind the walls of my dreaming.

I haven't practiced dreaming in a while but maybe some day I'll search out the vortex again and matbe this time I jump in ...

Sometimes it's like I'm doing everything right, but the car is going to the wrong place anyway. Like that time I kept driving off the edge of a really thin, old, wooden bridge (http://lalunaenamorada.i.ph/photo/d/730-2/old+wooden+bridge+1+-+munibren.jpg) in that haunted jungle.

It was like this, but more evil and I was with the worst people.

Why would boyhangover need to go get help? Sometimes dreams are just dreams...sometimes they just make zero sense, or sometimes they are a mind's way of trying to make sense of something. But I don't necessarily think that translates into anyone needing to "get help." In fact, I think one's dreams can be very therapeutic.

I wonder if the spirit of your cat is visiting you. I'm completely serious. How often do you dream that your cat returns? How long has it been since your cat passed over, and how long after that did your start having those dreams? Does your cat still visit you to this day, or have the dreams/visits stopped?

A question for all posters in this thread...have you all ever had one dream that turned into another dream...and then later on in the night you have a continuation of an earlier dream you had that night? That's happened to me a few times.

Also, have you all turned your strange dreams into stories? I've often thought about doing that, but actually haven't done that yet.I guess that's another good reason to keep a journal near your bed at night, so that when you wake up, you can hurry up and write down what you dreamt about before you forget.

Another question: someone in this thread mentioned dreaming about something happening, and it actually happened in the real world. I wonder how many prophetic dreams we all have, but never remember, but actually end up becoming reality...and we never even knew we knew that was going to happen.

I also think that it's possible to experience deja vu when it comes to dreams...like you dream something happens, and then you experience that same thing in real life, and then you get that weird feeling that you've experienced that situation before...

One time when I was younger, and living by myself, I was dreaming and then at one point a voice (I'm not sure whose voice it was...mine or someone else's), but the voice asked "Shouldn't you be getting up now?"

Right after that question was asked, I instantly woke up and looked at the clock...it was definitely time for me to get up, and I think it was 5:00 a.m. right on the dot. Scary, but kind of cool.

I've had this reoccurring dream where it looks like white circles and triangles and sometimes squares are fighting on a black background. I cna zoom in and watch the carnage, which is still black and white but the shapes lose their sides and die? I can back out and see that the shape "creatures" number into an infinite style and the continuous fighting looks like a blob shimmering or an old T.V. on with no pictures being broadcast or 'snow'. The shapes are warring and it's been going on forever. As a child I was terrified of this dream but now that I am older I enjoy it immensely and only wish to know a little bit more information of what is going on. the fighting is very violent, abstract yet violent?!?

I had a dream today that was quite involved. I was younger, but my younger sister was the same age, making her my older sister. We lived in some kind of housing for employees of a corrupt businessman. I had Superman like powers, the small factory/refinery and housing area was jokingly called Metropolis and the businessman was my arch enemy and made lizard men to kill me. 1 was a good guy and left the group. I met up with him on top of a building to talk, but by then he was a wolf man for some reason. All the while there was a subplot of tensions between a local troublemaker and my father (in charge of the residential area) that lead to a fight. My father collapsed after the fight, and while he lay in bed recovering I gave my sister all the $ I had on me saying I "didn't have to eat"...she was surprised that I was being literal as I super sped off. I looked it up in a book of Freuds: turns out I'm gay.

the weirdest dream i had:

-i'm in party with all my friends in a weirdly lit room. i can sense they're mad at me, but they're not telling why. i go into a long corridor that grows increasingly darker, and i open the door of the bathroom: there, there is a guy behind the shower curtain, that i can't see, except for the arm that is outide the shower, who yells at me franticly not to come in, waving his arm with a razor blade: i panic, and cloise the door, and run to another door, that leads into a closet, still scared, and the closet is small that i'm stuck, in the dark, between the door and the wall up my nose. i feel something scratching my back, and i asumme there must be a broom suspended on the door, except it's scratching me between the shirt and the skin: i raise my eyes, and there is no ceiling, only the cosmos, and the thing scratching my back is actually an elephant nose (trump? i don't know the english term) coming from the stars, and who suddenly retracts into the immensity.
i then find myself in another weirdly lit room, all red, and with old fashion furniture, and a guy is istting here, with a china teapot instead of a head, and i understand immediatly that this is some sort of masochist fetish, and that the hot china was molded directly onto his head. on the wall, tere is a man stuck, as someone trying to phase through it (more like han solo in cartbonite), with his hands trying to push through the walls, and i hear weeping: at first, i assume this is another of those sado masochist ritual, and that the man is "punished" by his wife, until i realize it's the woman who cries, pleading: "why? why do you make me do this to you?" and i understand he is the sadistic one, and he forces his wife into doing harm to him.
on the tv, there is a weird show called "children of the fault" (and only now, while typing this english do i realize how close this is of children of the vault, but there is no connection in french) but since the show is 3d and the tv is not, i only saw a couple of blurs floating around the set. but then, i realize i know the theme song, who is nothing but a buzzing, and that it is a show i watched as a kid about intergalactic flies.(such a show do not exist)

and suddenly, i'm in middle east, where an israeli soldier try to make a point to a palestinian by comparing the situation to human condition (i swear to god) and concludes by saying: "shame is oblivion". and i agree with him.

weirdest dream ever.
yesterday, i dreamed my cat was doing a cute little dance, with his paw behind his head. that was cute, until he fell. i follow the path of blood he left while crawling to the bathroom, to find him with his belly touching the ground, and his bones turned as spikes, upide down. and i understood that from now on, he would only crawl, as a centipede.

A reoccuring Nighmare I had, was because I was a mom.
It was the one where the car gets doused in the River/lake/water of some sort, and I had to figure out how to get all three kids out.

They all know how to swim now, so I haven't had the dream in about a year.
But the boys are only a year apart and they were both in diapers at one point and my eldest was only 4 years older, so how do you get a baby, a 1 year old and a 4 year old out of a car that has been dunked in water before it's fully submerged. hmmm...
Who do you choose to save?

My most common reoccuring dream involes me acquiring money that turns out to be fake, usually with some crude cartoon drawing or strange symbol where there should be a dead president.

I get that one, too. Generally it looks like real money on the front to me, and on the back is some kind of coupon (probably because I've seen that in RL).

My worst nightmare is when I find a bunch of money in a dream...and then wake up!

I had a weird dream last night. My sister was preasuring me to pick a college course for after university, which she is preasuring me to do in real life, then a whole bunch of people told me to go into teaching, then everyone started saying to go into teachign but I kept saying no, I dont want to. Then everywhere I looked people were telling me to become a teacher but I kept saying I dont want to. Then next thing I knew I was in a van but an extraordinarily large one with several rows and there was a guard standing over a terrorist, ( and this person actually exists, which scares me) whom I was sitting next to, and he said he was sitting next to a warrior. Then my teeth fell out then I woke up confused.

I had a weird dream last night.

That's not really a weird dream.
You feel pressured and fearful that a wrong decision will lead to embarrasment and possible being socially ostracised. It is an exaterated fear.

Most dreams may seem confusing at first but that's because you use your waking conciousness to try and put your dreamsymbols in a sensible order. This is the wrong approach. You need to look at each symbol individually and usually the simplest, most straightforward answers are the right ones. The symbols do tell a story but not a rational or linear one.

Teeth falling out means you lose your smile, you lose face, it is social embarrassment.
The prison truck is extra large, it has an exaterated size, it is larger than it should be, it is exateration, in this case exaterated worry.
The terrorist is a bad person, he is in a prison truck. He made the wrong decisions in life.
The warrior fights for his cause even if it means he dies doing so, he has a strong will that guides his decisions and he agressively pursues his goal. The warrior stands for your willpower.

In short stop listening to other people and think about what you want.

When you age, especially when you are a child and into the early adolescence, you go through stages. Not cut and dried with age or experience but a mixture of both always advancing and sometimes regressing. Once you leave one stage and go to the next you take a mental checklist of the goals that you had during that stage and see if any are met. Some goals are not reached and regret is there instead. maybe you can catch them in the next stage? maybe not...

At the end of your life you tally up the goals met vs. the goals unfinished and either you are satisfied or fill with regret depending on the tilt of the comparisons.

(no brakes dream interpreted by me)

Lots of my dreams have naked young(21 and up) girl boobs just littered all over the place.

Interesting interpretations. I often have minor crashes and then get chased by cops and can't stop.
I dream a lot per night, most often they're weird and fun. Last night for instance I can remember a prison that's a multi-storey shopping mall, and trying to operate a drug sting on soccer player Mario Ballotelli, and then betraying the police.
Dream geography I find interesting, the mixing of places, the evocation of places whilst they're not actually realistically portrayed etc.

I hate dreams in which I get a bunch of awesome comics, or other awesome items.

So do i. I've read entire runs of awesome comics only to forget all of them the next morning.

One recurring element in my dreams also has to do with comics. I am in a city i don't live in and i find a comicstore in some basement with loads of cheap old comics. It's run by the store owner i used to get my comics from. I read a lot of the books that are there.

I can trace back the symbolism to when we did a field trip to amsterdam and i found a comicstore in a rundown neighborhood where i found a bunch of new titles i didn't know existed.

So the dream is about looking for new opportunities in unexpected places.

Like I said, most dreams aren't that difficult to explain if you are aware of what personal symbols you developed and which memories you associate with which emotions. You have your own language of symbols and if you understand that you can translate most dreams easily.

So last night I dreamed that while shopping at Kroger I was approached by a woman who asked if I was (Identity with held to protect my loved ones) I said yes. She said Good, You've been served" turns out she had the wrong guy. She wanted me for payments on a truck I didn't own and when I pointed this out she said "yeah you are right my bad." She was discussing this with her boss and then the next thing I know she was plowed over by another vehicle. So I take her bag to her boss and tell her what happened. his responce was very callus. Something about docking her pay or something. So I reported his atitude to his boss and the next thing I know I am at home driving my dads truck and the no brakes thing happens. I end up on the highway and the truck's not damaged but I know I wrecked it and there are cops all over the place and one of them gets in my face and when I move out of the way he accuses me of being drunk and I know I'm not. He gives me a breathalizer and it comes up negative and he apologises but doesn't let me go. That's all I remember.

There's actally a really creepy and bizarre dream that appears to run in my family. I think I may have posted this on these boards before, but it still creeps me out:

My mother used to periodically have a dream where she would be visited by her father and typically at least one other relative. There was nothing particularly special about the dream, at least not that she remembers. But that's where it got creepy.

You see, my maternal grandfather died of lung cancer when I was about six months old. And without fail, within about two or three days of my mother having that dream, we'd find out that some relative of ours had died. Sometimes it was a relative who wasn't even elderly or ill. Sometimes, it was even the very same relative that my mother dreamed about in the dream with her father. Naturally, my mother often woke up from these dreams crying.

Then, awhile back I started having a recurring dream featuring a man I did not recognize, though he *felt* familiar. It was the same basic setup: The man and I and maybe another person would just do normal everyday stuff. I didn't even realize the connection until my mother showed me one of the last photographs my grandfather posed for. Sure enough, it was him. And yes, within a few days of me having that dream, I found out that some distant relative of mine had died.

Fast forward a few years to when my maternal grandmother was dying of cancer. We knew the end was coming. And it was coming fairly soon. The night my grandmother was taken to the hospital for the last time my parents asked me to stay over at the house to help take care of things while my mother spent the night in the hospital with her mother. That night I had The Dream, as we call it in the family. This time it was my grandparents together, looking much as they did in their wedding photos. I remember that my grandfather distinctly said "We're going to go now." and my grandmother said "be strong for your mother." Then I woke up crying.

My father, who had gone home for the night since the hospital would only allow one person to stay overnight (yes, even for what amounted to a deathbed vigil) heard me and came rushing in. So I told him. And no sooner had I finished telling him than the phone rang. My mother was calling to tell us that my grandmother had just been pronounced dead. I haven't had The Dream since.

My regularly scheduled dreams are not nearly as creepy.
