I've recently discovered the MLJ/Archie Black Hood series online and am really impressed with the quality of these stories. Mike Benton's Superheroes of the Golden Age similarily paints an attractive portrait of this period of comic books, suggesting a wealth of great stories from the 1930's/40's. However, outside of ACComics reprint series, I'm unaware of there being any collection (whether in single issue format or otherwise) of such heroes as Hydroman, Black Hood, the Hangman, the Black Terror, Cat-Man, etc. I know a lot of the companies that produced these characters are long out of business, but have there been any reprints of these stories within the past, say 20 years that I'd be likely to find? I know that Archie has revived the Shield, Black Hood, the Comet, etc in the past and that these characters have changed hands. Have any of these revivals ever been promoted with a re-release of their original tales?
