I came up with a new idea of how to tell the stories of Batman, Superman, ect....

Fully animated versions of the comics.....

Not simply animated adaptations, but cartoons that actually follow the story to the letter. They choose one of the reboot of each comic and do a series of cartoons for each one.

They can even use the same drawing style of the comics.

Why? What would it offer us to have the same stories in a medium less suited to the book? I'm down with more animated series for capes in general, but comic books are written and drawn and paneled and colored and lettered the way they are because they are books. I think that's important.

like anime is to manga?

it is not a really new idea but it let to certain issues like continuity for example
on the case of anime, there is no problems of continuity, it just follows the story from begining to end cause there are no intersections or crossovers that affect the story and if the story goes along side the manga which is still running they just put a filler to wait for the manga to catch up

it cant be done with comics cause up to certain point it would cross with another event or a crossover

but lets focus on small stuff with almost no interference
the simpler of cases could be batman
you would need to start with Batman Year One, and you cant have that as a kids show, im looking forward to the animated movie cause i feel it wont be alter that much

but what after that?
lets say the animate series starts coming from that dvd
there are many, many MANY stories that take before and after Y1, what are more proper, you could fill the gap with stuff like Mad monk and Monstermen, Prey and others but eventually you will get to The Man who Laughs
can you imagine that as cartoon!? children would be terrified
after that i believe it would be the Four of a kind stories then loebīs official Year 2 and 3
the Long Halloween and dark victory
but what about Venom, you need to fit that somewhere for the Knightfall arc on season 5, Robin Year one would come after DV and then Batgirl year one and then some filler here, there are a lot to choose, then nightwing year one to prepare the new TT series

but wait!, where does the JLA fit?
and superman and WW?
well lets think 1 season at a time when we reach the 5 year mark we can have more series ;)

you would need to fix continuity really well on comic to perfectly translate it into a series and half the stuff im saying would need to be alter to be shown to children cause you know there would never EVER be a series of batman that is over PG-13 so it would still be an adaptation

as an idea, ofcourse why not, but it will never happen in the way you are proposing it to work
though it would be awesome

Crossovers and other events can be done in a cartoon version just as easily.

thats not really the point
my point is that in order to translade the comic to tv you would need to have a perfectly good understanding of the continuity of the comic

i know it sounds very easy to jump from B:Y1 to the Man who Laughs and then read The Long Halloween and DV
but there are a lot of events that would need to happen in between
and incredibly enough Batmanīs continuity is probably the easiest to follow and adapt

There's a reason why comics are rarely adapted note for note to tv or film. As has been stated, there's continuity, which is a huge hurdle. And of course the fact that TV and comics are completely different forms of media. There are things in comics that television would have a hard time adapting.

That's a lot more expensive, and anyway word-for-word adaptations are lame. I'd much rather get an original story in animation, generally speaking.
