View Full Version : The Wildstorm characters should still be on Earth-50

But also in the DCU.
It just occurred to me that Earth-50 could be like sort of an Earth-2 for the Wildstorm characters. They've been transplanted into the DCU as newer, younger characters without all their history, but that history can still exist on Earth-50. This way we get to have Apollo and Midnighter and such in DCU Stormwatch, Voodoo and Grifter with no Wildcats, etc. but the Authority and Wildcats and Planetary and all of that still happened somewhere instead of just being erased. And at some point they could even cross over and see what those versions of the characters are up to.
Hopefully DC keeps that part of the Multiverse instead of rebooting it and making Earth-50 the planet of the swamp things or whatever.

I think this, and I hope it is the case also.

Didn't the Wildstorm Universe's Earth end permanently all post-apocalyptic?

Earth-50 remaining was what I had thought was happening. Just like how you had a JSA here, but still had Earth-2 out there and so on.
I hope Earth 50 is still around still doing their thing. It's been established several times that these characters do exist on many different parallel earths, with some tweaks, hell, The Authority: The Lost Year revolved around this idea. So I don't see why they would have to destroy Earth 50 to bring them to the DCU... it's just another set of alternate versions as far as I'm concerned. Flashpoint 5 worried me a bit in this regard, as it seemed to be saying the universes got mashed together. But then it dawned on me that Hellblazer is still going, there are now TWO John Constantine's existing simultaneously. So screw Flashpoint, obviously the Vertigo universe (Earth 13) is still around, and logically the same would hold true for Earth 50.

Nah, that was Earth-51. It's now the place where "Kamandi: The Last Boy on Earth" takes place.

I think Earth-50 should still be Wildstorm, but we still need confirmation. The events on Flashpoint could've changed the whole multiverse (Hot Pursuit explained that Earth-0 is the main timeline and everything that happens on that earth affects the other 51).
It'd be cool if there were two parallel earths based on the Flashpoint Universe and the old DC Universe.

No, I think it did, with World's End. I'm not a Wildstorm reader, so I have no idea what happened, though.
There was an apocalyptic event, but the stories did continue after that, and the characters worked to re-build the earth.
