I really hope we're not left waiting too long for a new Power Girl series. One with minimal DCnU "improvements" would be nice.

Sturges last issue was tons of fun. I'm going to post my impressions once I have it to give my good bye to Peegee.

Epic! Ah I am so bummed that PG isn't getting a series...just when I think I am over it, the sadness comes back. :(

Really liked the issue. Wasn't a goodbye issue, just a good straight up super hero action comic. Pretty good for a one and done.
Hope to see ya soon, Power Girl

Now that this Power Girl run is complete. I hope DC/Comixology would offer the rest of the issues digitally, so I can buy them all again (13-27)

You get a chance to read it yet? She speaks a few lines in Tagalog. You might get a kick outta that.

Wow. A real shame that there's been virtually no discussion on this issue. Perhaps what few enthusiasts there were had already given up. A shame too, for a final issue it hit every note one would want out of an issue of Power Girl.

Well, I already got it. Unfortunately it was'nt the high end that this comic deserved, it was okay but nothing spectacular.
However, I will speak about the overall quality that the Power Girl title represented which was something that you don't see very often. The first twelve issues were some of the best slice of life mixed with superheroics moments that I've seen in my life, bringed by the solid writing of Palmiotti/Gray and the expressive and adorable art of Amanda Conner, it made me fall in love for the first time with Peegee, Terra and the whole fun cast they created.
Then Judd Winick came on board and against all predictions, the title became even better. It became a bit more about superheroics but it never lose its fun factor, Winick even started to introduce a pretty nice rogue gallery for Power Girl while making it a tie-in to Generation Lost which was also being written by him, all helped by the wonderful art of Sami Basri, one of the best new talents at DC.
It really makes me sad to see one of my favorites titles being canceled and I will pray to see Peegee again in the future.

Yeah. I even helped Matt, translate English to Tagalog but I guess it was meant to be butchered, i LMAO!

Didn't know then that it was for a PG book. He just asked at Twitter how do you say this and that in Tagalog and no one answered so I did. lol! Then he said finally, someone! After that he posts how he is writing a PG story where PG butchers the Filipino language. Now that I've read it, wow, it was really butchered..

Can't believe I forgot about the lil Filipina girl! What a great little addition for the PG finale. I'm Filipino-American so my Tagalog is pathetically nonexistent. The fact that Peej knows more than me is simultaneously embarrassing and awesome.
I too love the fact it wasn't a "closure" issue. She's just doing her thing and that's how she rolls. No roadblock or flying off into the sunset. More like, "The adventures of Power Girl will continue!"

It sounds really fun. i don't have an issue of it coz my LCS doesn't get it in (an on-going battle I've been having with them). I really hope it's not the end of the PG we love and the one appearing in this New 52 thing is still our girl. I hope even more we get a PG title back, and this time DC could do a little more to promote and involve the book. Peej is too awesome to just go away.

It is really fun! A great issue! It really captures the fun superheroics that PG is so great at. Matt did a great job on this, and really deserves IMO to be on anyone's short list for writing a new Power Girl series as a replacement for one of the new 52. One of the great things about it is that like Robinson, he depicts PG as very, very smart! And even has her mention that she is, as she outsmarts the bad guy.
And the fact that she could speak Tagalog at all, but just not very well, was a great touch! After all, while very few US-based superheroes would likely speak it---if someone like Superman or Batman or Wonder Woman did, they'd speak it flawlessly. Having PG be able to get her meaning across, but still butcher the language, just adds to her characterization. And it's completely Power Girl!

Title is finally hitting it's stride and they cancel it. This and Zatanna 16 were the best I got this week and I doubt we'll ever see either character again in anything close to this form.

The way DC is throwing characters away this reboot have better have a good number of really stellar books. If Power Girl is really going to be sacrificed on the alter of a new business model I'd at least like her demise to worth something.

Just want to add to the PG support-- knew nothing about her before this series, came in about issue 3 or 4, liked it enough to hunt up the first couple of issues, dropped the title when winnick came on, picked it up again on recommendations from you guys, again went back for back issues, and stayed loyal through this current 'end'. A fun, entertaining, nice to look at comic about a fun, entertaining, smart character. And I, too, vote to bring'er on back!

Does anyone have the monthly sales figures for Power Girl? It would be interesting to see where she's been ranking/selling the past few months.

She's been the lowest selling super hero comic since May when they canceled everything below her to make room for the Flashpoint tie-ins. Still hovered around the 100th place mark with 17k a month, give or take. Issue 26 saw a minor dip but that's what happens when you cancel comics.

I always had a soft spot for Power Girl to lose one home planet is bad but two home planets is just horrible. I want Power Girl to come back and soon.

Considering DC makes money off of Hex in Europe, it's hardly a failed book.

A bit more context is that Booster Gold sold a fair bit lower than PG until he got involved in the Flashpoint crossover. Which just goes to illustrate the point I keep on making; that Power Girl would very likely have been selling much higher if she had just taken part in the crossovers that she logically should have---such as WONK or the Doomsday thing. Supergirl did, but not PG. SG BTW seems to have dipped out of the top 100 for the first time.
And if you had put PG into other crossovers that she maybe might not have had such a logical fit, but still could have worked in, such as the GL stuff, or Flashpoint---the title likely would have been selling much more.
But DC seems almost determined NOT to promote Power Girl as a series or as a character, and that was reflected in her sales. If they had promoted her like they did Supergirl or Superboy, who knows?

I call male bovine droppings until I see any numbers that show DC makes money off him in Europe. I doubt DC has any numbers on any such thing. Considering their state of the art marketing information relates to Diamond sales in the US, not exactly a reliable number to base decisions on.

Foolish as this is... do you think part of the lack of promotion by DC is an embarrassment about her bust-line...? Y'know, somebody 'in charge' said, "Well gee, she's got these big breasts just like 'the public' complains about super-hero women and...." I thought they dealt really well with this in early issues of the recent series; one of the things that attracted me to the series was PG addressing the issue of her figure and dismissing it so well.

Sort of a What If Firebrand had not been killed by Scourge. ;)

It would be a surprise if they were high since her fine tales have not used many high end characters with the exception of maybe Batman. Like, who the heck is CYCLONE? Motor mouth on her? She looks like an Enchantress copycat. Neat to slip an Anubis and Devil Dog appearance in the finale.

It was clever handling but it is hard to imagine it as an embarrassment as it undoubtedly helps sales. How great dialogue in the LCS in an earlier issue showing up to impress the nerd's friends! :) Even in this issue her two word comment 'STUPID CAT' was her best-line. ...oh you said bust-line... That reminds me, lovely cover pose!

Knowing it was the last issue, when I saw the cover I imagined I heard the voice of Kitty from Arrested Development saying:
"Say goodbye to your company, and say goodbye to THESE! 'Cause this is the LAST TIME (http://www.hulu.com/watch/1032/arrested-development-threats-from-michael)!"
