View Full Version : Leader of the X-Jammers

As we all saw last issue, Charles Xavier decided to stay at home to tend to Legion and to be a huge wimp.
Rogue saw the opportunity to rescue the Starjammers who have gotten themselves into a huge mess. Gambit said there's no way he'd let Rogue go alone. Magneto insisted that the entire team would go. Frenzy, after some playing around, agreed that of course they'd go. Now Rogue and Rachel are facing off with Horse, Glitter and the rest of those Shi'ar bozos from a few issues back. With Charles gone, however, there is a power vacuum.
Who will lead?
Havok - who has led his team into disaster after disaster?
Magneto - who got 16 million mutants killed?
Rogue - who cannot master a simple teleportation power?
Rachel - daughter of one of the leaders of the X-Men?
Lorna - Apocalypse's right-hand woman?
Obviously, Gambit and Frenzy are not options.

Were those characters really named Horse and Glitter? How awful. Are Spat and Grovel also starring in this arc?
Anyhow, I voted Havok. This will be another huge disaster, hopefully resulting in Rachel's death.

They've mentioned plans for all three characters in interviews now. I wonder what this big sacrifice will be. Maybe they wipe out one of the species involved in the conflict. Of that group I could see Rogue staying the leader. It's Carey it's going to Rogue.
Of the group I actually think a matured Rachel might be the best option. She managed to craft an entire movement in the Askani and fought Apocalypse well into her 90s. I can't see her ever taking up a leadership role though unless she really had to.

I didn't vote on leadership ability, I just voted for my favourite.

Hopefully not Rogue. She's a mess.

Rachel wins by being the least crap of anyone on that list. Gambit has less leadership fails than all of those people.

among the group of Magneto,Gambit, and Frenzy the one with the most leadership experience would be Magneto and Frenzy grew up following him so it would seem a natural fit to call him the leader of the team now.
Also Rogue and Rachel shouldn't even be an option for obvious reasons now

A Polaris lead team would be fun.

i'd hardly say that frenzy "grew" up following magneto. more like she fell into his cult on hard times.

Revenant is the only X-Jammer that has not been captured since they left for space (up until this point). She's bested the Imperial Guard and the Death Commandos. She has partial memories of her time as Mother Askani. It's time for her to upstage her uncle and show him what's what.

He didn't have to lead. He had a team of team leaders - Storm, Cable, Beast and Jean have all led the X-Men or X-Force at one time or another. He was only nominally the leader.

Its the same thing she was shaped by Magneto's ideal and leadership. If he was leading a team she would fall right in line like the old times.
She could even help reign Gambit and Havok in because I'm certain neither of them are going to be keen on his leadership.

Cable was a emotional wreck and was humbled by being beat by Apaacy
Jean was never officially a leader ( and please dont say when she recruited those idiots to go against Mags) she was only a headmaster plus she hated Xavier at the time
Storm Was looking like a Human Drape or Lamp with that ridiculous costume.
Beast Dont make me laugh when he was leader what did he get accomplished? by only making a non smoking rule in the mansion, storming through Sinister's Dummy Lab and meeting Nates Girl.
Gambit was the Logical choice and he was actually a good one.

Going to say Rachel. Leading/Being a member of the Starjammers is the Marvel equivalent of being consigned to limbo. I can't think of a more worthy candidate.

I voted for Havok! I've always kid of identified with the character, having an older brother that is kind of bossy. I think I heard something about Cyclops being deposed in the aftermath of the Schism event, maybe it is time for Alex to shine!

If it's not Hep, then it's not the Starjammers.
