Here's an earlier strip by me.

I'm not sure I get it, but I'm certainly feeling the visual.
Thanks, M-sweat.
It should be known that in that image and in today's episode, that there is no message to be "gotten."
I'm not convinced that today's panel is as well put together, probably due to the black backdrop...but that's for the critics to decide.

You have some kind of Creation theme in most of your work?
You have some kind of Creation theme in most of your work?
Occasionally. Not consciously though. What are you seeing in this one?
Occasionally. Not consciously though. What are you seeing in this one?
Actually, I'm seeing what you mean here.
Let me provide a little info on this picture.
Biblical stuff:
"Angela," a girlperson with wings. Nothing deeper than that.
The second character, I've tenatively named "Evelyn," Which is at least a double meaning, the least of which is the Biblical "Eve." I chose the name "Evelyn," because it sounds like "Evil" and I already have a character "Angela" to contrast to. Just a wordplay. Evelyn's probably not evil, she's more likely to be a nuissance at worst.
I chose only the most superficial "biblical" (if you can even call them that) symbols for the characters--wings for the one, a long tail for the other--and not for any religious purpose. I feel these symbols are part of our cultural lexicon, even outside of the Judeochristian mythological context. More than that, I made the characters like that just to give them something. I'm very secular, and avoid religious issues as much as I can.
As for the bushes of fruits, those don't really stem from the Biblical story (although one could argue that subconsciously they do), they have more to do with my obsession with plants, food and growth.
Ayo stuff:
My personal themes seem to revolve around or come back to food. I do a lot with people eating, things getting eaten...I also deal with growth, as with plants, which logically leads back to the food cycle.
And if tomorrow I draw a picture that totally disrupts the continuity of
this lengthy dissection, don't worry--I'm making these all up as I go along. Hence, the organic theme.
Sure enough:

For some reason, I can't see this picture. And the second to last one which allegedly had some kind of fish. Couldn't see that one either.

Just concepts in my head. There's no overarching story, storyline or anything like that. Just whatever I'm feeling when I sit down at my desk.

Thanks, Howy. When I've done enough of them, I'll compile the better ones in a dummy and see if there's any interest from there.

I don't know what the deal is, but usually all I see are red x's.
M-Sweat: I host my pics through www.imageshack.com which is a fairly popular hosting site. Maybe there is something about imageshack that prevents your computer from accessing pics hosted through it? You had mentioned earlier that you could see them through AOL, right? Sorry, I'm not so good with the computer-technical stuff.

Yeah, I use imageshack, too.
I still couldn't see some of it on AOL last night. And now I'm back on my school's network and I'm seeing some that I couldn't before. I don't know what's up. I'm shaky with the technical stuff as well. What I do see is interesting, though.

Thanks dude, I appreciate that a lot! I'm not sure what kind of book these images would end up as (comic book format, children's book format, art book format...), but I think its still quite a bit early for me to get too concerned with the publishing aspect. All I'm doing at this point is keeping the sizes and formats consistant and trying to keep everything cohesive so any future collecting of the work will be that much easier (gotta pick and choose your headaches, you know).

Hey Darryl, I got those minicomics in the mail today. I think the format you've come up with is great - very simple, and works quite well with the art style.
I like the idea you mentioned about the text pages, too. Having the text too literal would definitely take away from the surrealism of the stories.
