The more I see, the more I like, especially the news that the briefs are back.
I had doubts about Chiang, but from the preview art it looks like he was a good choice and he's going to be right at home.
I'm hoping the story is as good as the art.
Well, I certainly hope the news about Diana's compassion is true.
At this point, DC's successfully worn me down on the costume issue. I no longer really care one way or the other, as long as the final version is not too hideous.
Man, I love Cliff Chiang's art!

Welp, hotpants crowd won, to my disappointment; but I'm pleased to hear Diana's still Diana rather than Warrior Woman and THRILLED that they're finally going to slag off on these mega-crossovers every other month.

The pants kind of grew on me, so now I'm having a hard time letting them go!
Very glad to see Nicola is working on something.

Cliff stated on his twitter that the choker might end up disappearing in the long run, because he accidentally keeps forgetting to draw it.

LOL! It's like Cliff's sense of taste has him subconsciously omitting the choker. And now I'm picturing Jim Lee absent-mindedly drawing chokers on everyone, as if by some kind of instinctive compulsion.
It really is kind of extraneous.

No Xombi!!!! *starts to cry*
But everything else looks and sounds quite decent. The more I see of Chiang's art the more I fall in love with him. I am almost sure come September I will be asking him to marry me and father my children.

This just adds fuel to my hatred fire.
Who is the God of the Redneck Swamp? Which God is she fighting here?
Eh well.

I guess you are just going to have to buy the book...if you are that interested.
If you are not...I would not loose any sleep over it if I were you.

No I will come here and read the reviews for free.
As big of a part of my life as Wonder Woman is I find it saddening.
Thanks for being condescending though!

I was not being condecending. Not in the least.
If anything, I was trying to be helpful...walking around with all that hatred is quite unhealthy.
I understand your disappointment, I honestly do. I felt the same way when he-who-must-never-be-named and the Tracer of Porn started on Uncanny X-men #500. After one read, I knew it was not for me and I promptly dropped it...after nearly thirty years of reading and collecting the X-men.
However, I soon found other titles to read that gave me the same joy and entertainment and lost absolutely no sleep over my decision and realised it was just time to move on to other things.
Oh, well...

I personally LOVE that she is wearing heels again after all of these years. Hope they are here to stay.

Uhhh not to rain on everyones parade but the article linked to is from Thursdays 52 Panel and in the CBR article for the same panel we have:
A fan asked whether the new "Wonder Woman" comic might focus more on her compassionate, embassadorial role rather than her warrior persona. Chiang hesitatingly said "we're not focusing on that," but "there will be a human side to her" and "the covers may be more extreme than what's in the book."

Have to throw out another pants or panties issue...it seems that all questions about it have received a non-answer or joke...do you think there is a true, in-story answer or is it simply artists preference?

I hope to god it's just artist preference. No way does pants vs. panties deserve story time, just make a choice and stick with it.

I don't even think they need to choose. Hot weather, wear shorts. Cold weather, wear pants. Everyday wear, wear shorts. Formal, ceremonial time, wear ceremonial dress (whatever that is).

Oh, for god's sake! I was just starting to feel optimistic about this damn relaunch. Looks like we'll be getting more angry, ruthless, mopey, sad sack Diana. Because apparently, those are the only qualities that define one as "human." Love, compassion, and mercy are apparently not qualities humans can possess.

I swear that since the beginning of all of this relaunch talk, almost any and everyone editorially/creatively associated with Wonder Woman, when commenting on her creative direction has come off like they a.) barely know a damn thing about what informs Diana as a character/concept and b.) couldn't give a wet rat's matted ass about what they did know. It's just how they speak about her, they sound so casually ill informed like "who gives a f***?"...I mean, Chiang, first of all, you're the artist, why are you commenting on her character development? I don't want to hear from you. Azzarello should be doing that first and foremost and he's essentially said SQUAT.
At the end of the day, I wouldn't care if Wonder Woman wore underoos, a kilt, jeans, was more Marston than Perez, vice versa, WHATEVER so long as we had creators that genuinely LOVED and UNDERSTOOD her as a concept and character.

Hatred for what? Based on what? This all bc of the lack of pants?

If you've ever read SonofDiana's posts here, you know it's not all because of the lack of pants. It's part of it, but that's not all it is.
He's said many times that his favorite tales are found in Marston era Wonder Woman. She was a superhero, not Odysseus or Perseus. Post-Perez, things started to get too muddled with mythology and the Gods, and her new demeanor came at the cost of losing her unique sense of wonder.
It doesn't help that DC has stated before that the inclusion of Gods and the mythology that comes with it has been when her sales typically drop... yet they keep adding more of the mythology, making it worse.
I empathize with both SonofDiana and BNL here. This is slowly growing into "Do not want" territory for me, but I'm trying to stay positive. Honestly, it grows more and more difficult with every bit of news. One step forward, two steps back.
