This is the 74th of the long running Good , Bad and Ugly. This week has books by Bill Willingham , Jonathon Hickman and Dan Didio. So how did they rank ? We will see. By now you know the entire drill .

Brightest Day Aftermath : Search for Swamp Thing #1 of (3): This issue begins the re-introduction of John Constantine into the DCU. Basically this Constantine from appearance is a early to mid 30's rogue type who still reads a newspaper. His best mate Chas is also younger in this re-introduction.
Its when Constantine tells Chas that the bugger , Swamp Thing is trying to reach him since the 2 share a connection to the green. Plus the fact he helped teach Swampy to be a right good elemential too. This connection has him get attacked at the Royal Botanic Gardens . He also gets marked by a spreading part of Swamp Thing.
Constantine knows he needs help dealing with this. So he decides he needs to call in the capes. So he hops a plane and gets to Gotham City to find Batman. Since he needs a detective to find Alec Holland/Swamp Thing. At 1st he works on a summoning spell but then sees the Bat signal and tracks down Batman that way.
Its the real 1st interaction of Batman/Constantine as he somehow puts Alfred to sleep , lights a cig in the bat-mobile and tells Batman he needs his help. Dick is less than happy and smacks him outta the car. Never having met Constantine the 2 discuss Swamp Thing and how murders in Gotham are likely linked to him !
After a trip in the green , Constantine gets saved by Zatanna who details that the 2 have had a relationship . One never seen before. Thats a suprise to see but adds a back story to Constantine in this DCU now.
We see that Alec Holland is split off in his own body. And that Constantine reveals could be a huge danger ahead.
Its a pretty damn good start to this mini-series and you have to admit that the 1st meeting of Constantine/Batman has him smoke a cigarette in the Batmoble. Nice moment. Plus the fact the DCU Constantine now has had a relationship with Zatanna is suprising. Its gonna be a fun dynamic in the JLA Dark series I'm sure.
Uncanny X-Men #538: Its the end of the Breakworld arc as Wolverine does battle with Kruun. The 2 square off as warriors and each one lands a blow. Kruun however uses the glowing sword to pierce Logan's lungs and he lies bleeding. Kitty somehow returns solid to help get Colossus medical attention. He is suprised she called backup in as the other X-Team members show up for an attack.
Kruun however takes off as he learns his mate or other Haleena has sacrificed her life to save Kitty and make her whole again. Kruun reads her note and seems to understand that his way of life and that the weak aren't accepted doesn't work anymore. He willingly risks his life to save her , making himself weaker to bring her back.
Haleena lives and holds him as he recovers some. But will never be what he once was. The mayor of San Francisco gives the Breakworlders a part of a town called now "Break Town" to live in as we see Kruun stop the stronger ones from jumping a weak woman pushing a cart. He apologizes to Cyclops for what he did to Wolverine and Colossus.
In the end we see that Kitty and Peter have a nice evening alone watching the sun set. Happy for this break and peaceful moment finally togethor.
It was a good end to an arc and nice way to give the Breakworlders a place now on Earth. I enjoyed this arc and it restores Kitty finally after a year as a ghost since she returned.
Walking Dead #86: The fallout of No Way Out continues as Rick watches his son fight for his life from the coma. He sits and watches him with Andrea who is there for support. The doctor tells him its too soon to know if he'll recover fully due to the bad blow and loss of his eye he suffered. When she wants to spend time with her gf , Rick agrees to leave for the night.
He runs into Michonne who is by Morgan's grave . She admits that for the 1st time she felt something more than needing sex from someone. That she was becoming close to Morgan and she feels bad how he went at the end. Rick admits he never had much time to speak with Morgan at the end and regrets it.
The next day we see Andrea leading a group on shooting skills . Rick joins them and compliments Andrea how good a shooter she is after he leads his group in wanting trenches dug , cars set as a maze and so forth . He admits to Andrea his failures with Jess and Lori. That he always thought of himself and family 1st before the group. Now he knows , for Carl to have a happy life ahead , the Community has to be around for him.
Andrea and him discuss how they never think of the past. Keep moving and Rick admits if he sit and thinks , he would go crazy. Over all he's lost . But now he's gonna be a better person and he reveals that its gonna work.
The book also has Elephantmen #1 . Which is a reprint of that issue from years ago. Elephantmen is basically the story of a bio-engineered smart elephants who went to war with humans. Now some work jobs alongside humans and there is anger there. One awakes as a detective and soon enough his mind plays tricks with him.
Believing he's a man or elephant he goes to his job as a detective. Soon enough he confronts someone with an old flame he had. He gets shot and suddenly awakes...as he was an elephant the entire time. That the drug made him hallucinate that he was a human !
It was a good all around issue and props to Image to use the Walking Dead to promote other works . Last month Witch Doctor , this month Elephantmen. I really like seeing Rick admit he needs to change and be a better man. That now he has to think of more than himself and family.
