"Though he couldn’t divulge any classified information about what’s actually going to happen inside the covers of the comic, Chiang was able to discuss what makes Wonder Woman such an enduring icon as well as why Diana would make for a badass rock star. Also discussed: Cliff’s love of ’80s music and giant robots. Not necessarily in that order."

He's fantastic. It's short, but he's so likable.

I think Diana as rock star makes a lot more sense than some of the depictions we've seen over the years.

Heh. If someone could marry that to Rucka's background, that'd be very interesting to see...

I guess we won't be seeing Miss Urban Fantasy Chick in WW #1, if that interview is anything to go by...

Did you read the part where he says they have a totally different premise? So no Diana Prince. No balancing being a woman and a superhero.

Given the solicit, the blip about Azz, and this interview I'm thinking Rucka Woman x 1000. Angry, violent, brutality with a grim angst ridden Diana. So 100 Bullets with the power of Superman.

Exactly what I've been dreading, since the announcement of Azz writing Wonder Woman.

Did you guys actually READ the interview?

He was referring to the TV show being a different premise from the comic; not the current comic (Odyssey) being a different premise from the one he's working on. The DK series had a Diana as a CEO of a company and serving as a Vigilante in LA.

So all we know is that he believes 10 different people would want 10 different versions of WW. That it doesn't follow the premise of the TV Series, and that Azzarello said that we're going to see the warrior side of Diana... That isn't alot to go by considering we've seen dozens of different versions of Diana's warrior side from Gail, Perez, even Marston.

Hopefully they'll be able to get some 'real' info by SDCC.

Different premise can also be interpreted to mean no street level Diana. No running around chasing Veronica Cale goons. No corporate Power Girl esque vigilante.

I think you're reaching on the bitchy angry part. But yeah, this could be a Rucka rehash. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.

I think that's amply proven on the boards.

Personally, I think I'd love a version that's a bad ass warrior, is a street level person and takes art lessons in her spare time. I'd ask for a tap dancing Diana, but that might be a bit much for people.

Or it could also mean no Diana Prince and no balancing of a social life. Just by saying not like the show could mean we are both right.

Hyped up warrior side plus Gods right off the bat equals Rucka Woman for me which I suffered through. I'm sure that the most they will be on the book is two years since writing Wonder Woman is the equivalent of being the Defense against the Dark Arts teacher. If I hate it, I know it's not permanent and a "bold new era" is right around the corner. :-)

This. Everyday. All day long. I would cry like a baby if the REAL Wonder Woman came back.

I have full faith in the fact Azzarello and Chiang are going to kick ass on this book.

Fun read. I'm very excited to have Chiang on WW. And I love those album covers!
