Anyway, I read somewhere in this board that it will eventually be 14 members, hence the thread title.

I have a strong inkling Hawkman's going to be on the team, the reason for which can be found here (http://thestonechatmuseum.blogspot.com/2011/06/hawkman-to-be-featured-in-justice.html) at my blog. Coupling that, I'd just like to see him on the team for my own selfish fanboyish reasons. Simple as that.

I'm hopeful Captain Marvel will be on the team, not so much for me, but because I know there are a lot of Shazam fans out there eager at the prospect of what this relaunch might mean for the Marvel Family, and him being a complete no-show will really disappoint many of them.

I'd also like to see the Atom on the team, simply because I like him and want to know where he stands in the DCnU.

Dr. Light is one of DC's stronger female characters, in my opinion, and I think the team would benefit from her presence on it. And again, I'd also like to see how she fares in the post-Flashpoint universe.

Red Tornado, who I think is a nice substitute for Martian Manhunter when he's not a Justice League member, is usually the most interesting when he's surrounded by a team.

Black Lightning is vastly underutilized by DC, in my opinion. He should be one of their premiere characters, but it seems like every time he gets a push, he's all but completely forgotten about soon thereafter. A Justice League by Johns and Lee could help to up his profile for the long-term considerably.

Finally, due to her showing in Brightest Day, I liked the idea of Mera joining the team, at least before any of this relaunch business got underway. If she translates more or less unchanged to the DCnU, then I would still like to see her on the team.

That's seven, then. Although, for the future, should Hawkgirl be introduced shortly, I would of course be very open to the idea of her taking a spot on the team, too.:wink:

Love to see Elongated Man alive and well again, but if they go with a stretching type it'll probably be Plastic Man.

Atom (Either one of them) seems like a natural fit.

I know each already has a book, but neither Green Arrow or Hawkman would be a surprise.

Huh. Come to think of it, maybe Hawkgirl would be better because it looks like Wonder Woman is the only woman on the team we'll be sure of.

Whoever it is they need tree to four more women to balance the books a bit-I would go with seven men and seven women but that's never going to happen unfortunately.

I was thinking about the image in flashpoint issue one,we now know starfire isn't in the league as she will be in red hood and the outsiders or w/e.

Dr. Light - the League needs more females and diversity, plus, it's about time they gave her a real shot at the big time.
Dr. Fate - League needs an expert in magic, and Zatanna appearently will be unavaliable.
Mera - After Blackest Night, she deserves it.
Metamorpho - A nod to the past, seeing as he refused to join the original League, plus, he's pretty powerful.
Atom - Okay, it's hard to swallow a League without MM, so the Atom would bring in a bit more familiarity.
Faith - Loooooooongshot, but without J'onn, they need someone with mental powers, and, other that Captain Comet, which I still want to see in a cosmic title, somewhere down the road, she was the only one who came to mind.
The last slot might go to someone from the Wildstorm Universe. Zealot or Fairchild seem good candidates.

I love most of your roster, especially picking Faith. I would also love a living Manitou Raven (or Dawn) to be on the team, but I don't think DC would so that.

I would just swap out Metamorpho for Plastic man, just as a personal preference.

I chose the first five because their solo titles are billed as "launching out of JL".
That left two spots. I figured those two were most likely female. At least one of them most assuredly is female because I'm betting Wonder Woman won't be the ONLY one.
With Black Canary in Birds of Prey, Vixen in JLI and Zatanna in JLDark it doesn't leave a lot to choose from.

I avoided Mera and Hawkwoman as they are partners/sidekicks of two of the male members.

I would love to see Dr. Light in there but they'll probably introduce the villain version first and she would fit best in JLI. As would Crimson Fox.

I almost put Raven in there but I think she may end up in JLDark, if anywhere.

I also refrained from using any legacy characters like Huntress, Power Girl, Fury or even the female Wildcat or Dr. Midnite since they may be introducing the original JSA members later on.

Well the first wave of books said "spinning out of Justice League #1" so im assuming Hawkman, Firestorm, Captain Atom and Mr.Terrific will be members. Although I have been told Captain Atom will actually be in JLI but I don't see why he can't be on 2 teams like Batman.

The Atom (Ray Palmer) - I'd like for them to reboot Ryan Choi back to life, but come on, they're not going to. Anyway, the Atom is a physicist and his shrinking provides a unique powerset.

Black Lightning - He's cool, he hasn't been seen elsewhere in the "diverse" New DCU despite being the first black character with his own book, and he's very different from Cyborg.

Captain Marvel (Billy Batson) - Hasn't been seen elsewhere, he's powerful and provides a magic-based member to the team. Might be redundant with Superman, though.

Martian Manhunter - Yep, I think he's still there. They just wanted to highlight Cyborg, but come on, you can't relaunch the JLA and not include J'onn.

Red Tornado - He's a cool robot, and his red color along with J'onn's green may not add real diversity, but it at least distracts from how white most of the JL is. :tongue:

Dr. Light (Kimiyo Hoshi) - Everyone else on the team was either born in America or lives in America, with the possible exception of Wonder Woman depending on how they relaunch her. If you're going to drop "of America" from the title, might as well put non-Americans on the team. Plus, she's another female member and provides racial diversity besides white and black.

And lastly, I'm thinking Hawkman (Carter).

Even though Mr. Terrific was included under the New Justice banner, I'd be surprised if he's in the JL because he's such a JSA character. I mean, we'll see, but I don't think he'd be there. That said, you could probably swap him with Billy. He's tech-based like Cyborg but in a very different way.

Hawkgirl instead of Hawkman, just to help with the diversity. But if it's Hawkman, I'd like to see him ordering the rest of the team, including Superman and Batman, around like they just didn't impress him at all.

Red Tornado or Spartan, 'cuz every team needs an android to blow up and put back together.

I'd love to see Nightwing on the team, but not if Batman's there. Too similar.

The Atom. I always loved the group shots where he's just hanging out on someone's shoulder.
