What do you think about the Carol/Hal bouncy relationship? Should they tie the knot? Are they made for each other or made to torture each other?

As much as I'd like to see the two of them work out and get married, maybe two kids a dog and a picket fence, I have to admit their personalities don't mesh when they're together.

They're probably the most "star crossed" lovers DC has to offer.

It's hard to tell. Hal has absolutely zero personal life for the past three years or so.

Yeah, but the whole Carol/Hal thing has been going on a bit longer than that though. :)

I like the whole dynamics loves, i dun want them to get married, but it'll be fun to have this on and off r/s thing going on.

I love Carol. As far as I'm concerned, she's right up there with Lois Lane as far as DCU supporting characters go.

I can imagine Carol naming her something like "The heifer" or something else cow related as well. :biggrin:

I think Hal and Carol are sort of meant to be together off and on.

Kind of like Dinah and Ollie, it was too much to have them get married but they should always be tangled together.

I see Hal and Carol as the couple who in another lifetime would be together but duties keep them from being together now.

Hal wasn't always a playboy. In fact during the Silver age, he tried to propose several times. That aspect of him really being a playboy was added by Geoff Johns. :mad:

No...those elements started to creep in during the Bronze Age. It's not a recent addition.

True. Hal's had a long string of women over the years. Carol's just the one he's always come back to. I'm also glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read the whole 'Reverse Cowgirl' line because it definitely would have shot out of my nose from laughing....

Hal's had a string of girlfriends... but so what?!? So has superman. What about all the Lois, Lana, Lori, etc. etc. that have floated around all the years... Doesn't make Superman a 'playboy'.

Hal bounced around a lot... but he was never really 'sleeping around' or anything... Every couple years he'd either move on or get dumped and then settle down with a new gal for a while... not like he was juggling a bunch of gals at once.


That said... i don't believe the problem is Hal... I think it's CAROL. She is a very bland and uninteresting character. Always HAS been. The ONLY time Carol actually works... is when she's trying to juggle personal and professional lives and Hal was trying to 'date the boss.'

With no boss aspect... and no Ferris Aircraft... and for that matter with her knowing Hal and GL are the same guy.... Theres nothign INTERESTING about her. Lois was always a fiesty scrappy dame... that excited Superman...

Carol was 'the unattainable'. Once those barriers disappeared She tended to be whiny and needy and the writers had to keep slamming her with more mental or physical issues JUST to keep hal feeling important...

Either she wanted to be the ONLY thing in his life... or he was smothering her and she'd dump him. Sometimes she'd go evil and try to kill him. /Repeat vicious cycle.


Sadly, I HATE Cowgirl even more, So hopefully he can find someone ELSE...
