I was reading the Denny O'Neil/Neal Adams Green Lantern/Green Arrow issues and in issue 82, Green Arrow calls Black Canary "Pretty bird" which has become his pet name for her over the years. Was this the first time he called her that?

Don't know it for a fact but I would assume so, as it seems to be part and parcel of the "down with the common man" left-wing hipster persona that O'Neil and Adams gave him.

If it wasn't in an issue of GL/GA, the only other logical place would have been in Justice League of America, which is where they first would have met.
(But off-hand, I don't know.)

Denny O'Neill was writing JLA back then, too, so that's a good guess.
