I had seen a preview for this show before..but I didn't know what it is was about..other then the main guy was a doctor or something. The preview looked ok..but...
Then today, I saw a little bit of a Screensavers episode (rerun) that showed some behind the scenes on it. My dad pretty much saw all of the behind the scenes. He told me about it.
Now from what I understand, House is sort of a take off of Sherlock Holmes. A modern take on it with a doctor who solves weird medical mysteries (and he's even addicted to some medicine, kind of like Holmes was addicted to cocaine). And there's even a character thats a take off of Watson.
The concept sounded interesting. I saw a scene that looked interesting (kind of gross too. lol).
I didn't know that this show was like this. If I had, I would have been watching it.
Does anybody watch this show? Is it as good as it sounds?

He's more like Blackjack.

Except the AVA hates bastards in the leading role, so this show isn't gonna make it to a third season.

*has no idea who Blackjack is* Looks like an anime character though..*shivers*
Anyway, I just read that the next episode is coming Jan. 25. Should I check it out? Is the show good?

'sok. Blackjack was a doctor who would try to cure a patient by any means nessisary to the point that his license was revoked. A cold blooded bastard feuled with the desire to save people.
Go ahead. It's pretty good.

House has been a great show so far. They need to get rid of Omar Epps, and the Younger girl doctor, put in the Head Admin. Doctor more, and make House a little more ass-like than he is acting now. So far it has been a suprisingly good show.

I find that the main reason I watch House is to see him act like a bastard. But that is still a very compelling reason. The show's good too :P
Although I do agree that the Omar Epps character needs a little work, since all he seems to do is be wrong all the time and get slammed on.

The show has been great so far. Hugh Laurie's outstanding performance really kicks the show up a notch.
However, while the supporting characters need work, none of them have gotten to the point where I would say they need to be dumped.

Anyone watch last night's episode?
It's fun to watch the battle of wills between House and Vogler as House tries to save his team.
I'd like to know how House will take care of Chase for being a backstabbing sonuvabitch.
I loved that Cameron both laid it out that she and House have a thing for each other, and then called him a misanthropic son of a bitch later in the episode.

With Chi McBride only on for a total of 5 eps, I wonder how they are going to write him out.

Chi McBrides character is more of a bastard than House is. The med he's always popping is Vicodin. Is Voglar the head Admin? They never really said what he is.

thanks. They should eliminate him by having him come down with something and House being the only person who can treat him. I know that's rather cliche but it seems appropriate somehow.

That's what I was thinking when they announced his casting.

^^Ya, my dad and I had the same thought. Hopefully, they won't do that. Not sure what other way there is to get that guy off their back though...
Hmm. You know, IF they do that plot, it would be funny if, after saving his life, the guy goes back to acting the same way he's been acting. He is a rich snob afterall! LOL!
Anyway, I wonder if House will fire someone...or if he'll figure out some way out of it. IF anyone can, I think he can!
Chase definitly deserves to be fired though...but at the moment it looks like that won't happen...
Man! This show is great! I'm enjoying this alot.
I think McBride has added alot of conflict to the show. Maybe he should stick around longer. Hmm. Though, on the other hand, I love to see House and co. figure out a way to get rid of him! I guess Mcbride's character is the type you love to hate! lol!
Great series. Glad its coming back!

I think this show is real cool. It's combines drama with a little bit of comedy. I watch it occasionally with my brother but I'm not a devout fan of it. I'll prolly end up watching the rest of the season though.

Never seen it, but it sounds good.
Mind you, I still can't disassociate Hugh's performance as George in 'Blackadder' though ...

I really liked this show in the beginning but now its becoming a one trick pony in my eyes. eevery episode they misdiagnose an illness and then circle around and heal them before the final credits roll. I am over it.

We make it a point to watch this on Tuesdays too. I enjoy it but I agree...they need to evolve the show because outside of Laurie, this has become a very predicitable show.
I'm still watching it though.

I feel like they need a patient to die in an episode, to put a little self doubt into House. And to break the predictability cycle.

They already had a patient die in an episode. It was the episode guest-staring the actress who played Jack Buer's wife on 24. VERY good episode, imo.
Anyway, I don't find House predictable at all. What makes it so unpredictable, imo, is that you never know what the diease is that the patient has and how the group will treat it. And you don't if they'll save or lose the patient. Sure, they've saved most of their patients, but I think the suspense is still there. Plus this whole situation with Mcbride's character is very unpredictable so far. Well, alot of us are thinking that Mcbride's character will get sick or something and House will save him and things will get better...but who knows. Maybe they'll go a different route.
Anyway, predictable to me me is say....Crossing Jordan. I like the show, but its been predictable lately.Theres other shows that are predictable, but to me, House isn't. They really keep you guessing on what the diease is and what will happen next (especially with the staff. Will one of them get fired? Or will they find a way out of this problem?)
PLUS: House is hilarous. To me, House is what makes the show stand out the most. He's a doctor who will just say and do whatever he feels like. Makes for a great show, imo.
I enjoy House quiete a bit. Can't wait to see more!

I got hooked on this show when Veronica Mars was on reruns, first ep I saw was where the girl died. It also has my favorite scene where House tests his rabbies theory by sticking a needle in the other doctor and waiting for a reaction.
Anyway I've been watching since, either taping it and watching VM or watching it and taping VM. I hope they keep both shows around.

the first half of the first season was great and then it went right down the tubes when they introduced Vogler.
You can't make Cutty the "bad guy" and then introduce a character who's the even badder guy. Likewise the sweet young thing liking House was just kinda yucky and they played that card too soon.
But then I think they played WAY too many cards (the detox episode) too soon out of fear of cancellation.
Omar Epps is really great on that show. He's wrong sometimes but House sees him as his only equal among the young doctors and House knows he has the potential to surpass himself in time once he's able to think outside the box.

I don't really think Cutty was supposed to be the bad guy, just another of the counterpoints to House's feelings on medicine and how hospitals should be run.
I really liked Vogler, really fun guy to hate. I think the show actually improved along the season. Really looking forward to next season.

Cutty was the primary antagonist, Vogler made her obsolete... plus Vogler was really poorly developed.

This is one I'm really looking forward to coming out on DVD. (No tv reception.) I hear it's very well-done. Plus, like the poster who mentioned Blackadder, I'm used to Laurie from a couple dozen episodes of Jeeves & Wooster, so I'm really curious to see him play a bastard. Not to mention someone with a brain.
