Has this been discussed? Will he also run Secret Avengers?

As far as I know he will still be Top Cop. But I'd imagine he would be on the main line-up. Definitely not NA and I have a feeling John Steele will rise to prominence in SA.

The way his morals have been sliding? X-Force.

Maybe Steele takes over Steve's SA and he moves onto the main Avengers team.

I can't imagine him being Captain America and not being on that team.

Man, I really dislike John Steele. He's an average villian at best but I don't need that 90's anti hero shit in my comics these days. I think if anything, Nick Fury should be leading Secret Avengers since Secret Warriors went away.

Steele isn't a villain though. That's the thing. He was brainwashed. Same as Buck and he is one of Timely's original characters.

I disagree about Secret Avengers but I am forced to agree about the Illuminati business.

That's my bad then, I'm behind a few issues because of my huge backlog of stuff old and new I have to read. I still find the character boring. To be honest though, I'd really love to see Bucky in the Cap gear leading the Secret Avengers. I hate how the movie has forced Steve Rogers back into the cap role since I've been enjoying his current role better and his new costume looks awesome.

At any rate, I'd like to see Steve back in the main book which looks like it's going to happen anyway.

I'd like to see that Tony manipulated him with the infinity gauntlet but at the same time, I'm not sure if I want to see Tony Stark thrown under the bus like what happened with Civil War.

I really hope this is just a case of Bendis totally mischaracterizing again and just leave it at that. I'm not even sure if the whole Illuminati thing holds water since the skrull threat isn't there anymore, the whole thing made more since when no one knew who was who.

As a rule I ignore all Bendis writes that involves Cap. I would advise others the same regarding their favorite characters. You Iron Man fans take beating on a regular basis.

Since Bendis is writing both New and Avengers both teams.

If they take Steve out of SA, they are going to need someone large to fill his shoes to keep the draw for the title. I don't think t hey are going to move any of the other members to take his spot. More likely they may keep him in both titles but downplay his role a little more in SA with Black Widow and Sharon being field leaders. But since it was Steve's idea to form SA based on what he felt were threats, it may be the end if he moves on to the main team.

I can see Steve doing double duty in multiple Avengers back (Secret and adjectiveless specifically). Heck, he's sort of doing that anyways.

I think ideally, he'll directly lead Secret Avengers while simply showing up in other Avengers books from time to time.

I actually see the Illumaniti thing as looong needed character development.
You cant play shining knight while running spies and covert ops teams- or with the safety of untold people on your shoulders. Steve could be that way back when it was just one small Avengers team he was leading, but not now.

He will mostly likely quit Secret Avengers since he wouldn't be considered a black ops person with a colorful costume like that. He will most likely have to be on Avengers i mean it would just make no sense for him not to be. And he can't join New Avengers unless Luke Cage gives up his leadership. And I don't see Bendis giving up his charity Case Characters Leadership up to anyone not even Cap.

It should be Bucky leading Secret Avengers- ir better still Rhodey.

Rhodey's background, military connections nad new armor all make him the best leader for that team.

Surely logic would suggest that he will be on AVENGERS, re-uniting the "Big Three". Bucky should lead the SECRET AVENGERS, IMHO leaving Luke to lead the NEW AVENGERS.

Cheers.

James.
