I think this was the first part of the story to disappoint me. I don't know what it was, but for some reason the story just felt like it was missing something, it felt incomplete.
And although last issue I was okay with Miss Martian being mind controlled I'm sort of fluctuating the other way in this issue. If it had just stuck with the angle that he was just a stronger telepath I would have been okay, but to control a Martian and then to struggle with Damian kind of took me out of it for a second. I get that he was trained by the league of shadows from birth so a little skill at blocking his mind would be acceptable but to resist more than Miss Martian? That just seemed a bit much.
Still over all I'm enjoying the arc, and I'm sure that although this issue seemed a little unsatisfying on its own that when read together with the other parts it would prove to be a decent part of the overall story.

I agree wholeheartedly. The rest of the arc was well paced, however, I really feel as though nothing happened this issue. It could've been crammed into half the space. However, it wasn't bad by any stretch
First time I've been disappointed in a while by this book though.

I have not long been reading superirl so i cant compare it to past issues but i enjoyed this one. The art is very good.

I wasn't too impressed by this issue, the last couple of issues were good so I was expecting the same standard here but it just didn't deliver. Like has already been said I don't buy Damien having more mental defenses than Miss Martian.

I agree absolute bs. There is no way Damian should have better mental shields. Honestly, Jamie should also be better his tech should offer some protection.

I could live with Miss Martian underperforming to make Supergirl look better. It is her series, after all, so such things are to be expected.
Making her job just to make Damian be teh awesome!, however I find vaguely offensive. Miss Martian spent like half a dozen issues with an alternate evil future self in her head that was trying to take over her body and though she near lost control, she was shown fighting every step of the way.
And I am supposed to think that Damian can do better than that?

It seems that Bat people do everything better than everyone, are always prepared for everything, and probably never get cavities to boot. It's DC Dogma about Batman and the Batclan. Maybe we should call the effect Batsma.
For that matter being bounced off of a few walls shouldn't knock Supergirl out. But at the $2.99 price point they've cut back on the pages and panels a lot so maybe they just don't have the space to tell the story well.

I don't know about the price point affecting the story, the last few issues had the exact same page count and managed to tell decent stories that more or less stood on their own. This issue seems to be the exception rather than the rule as I haven't really had a problem with the content in any of the recent books except for this one.

it depends they could have easily had him use tk to knock her out after that or have him use fine control to squeeze of a few blood vessels or something.

Really not enjoying the storyline, not one bit. The art and coloring's okay, but they're got little to work with.
Certainly not in danger of being dropped, but man, this ain't the title I was enjoying under Gates and Igle. :frown:

Issue by issue it just gets a little bit worse. Hopefully, the conclusion will be a good one.

Yikes. A really big drop in quality for a storyline I was really liking.
As dumb as it was, I think the Damian sequence had more to do with the structural need to prolong his fight so that the pacing would work out. Otherwise you get the realistic scenario, where M'gann simply walks right up to Damian and takes over his mind, which again, while realistic, would be pretty quick and not too exciting.
Also, even if it was just a nightmare, I didn't enjoy the scene of Damian and Talia killing the Batman Family. She's certainly a villain, but Talia is a bit gray for that.

It was a noticeable drop, but I'm thinking that as long as it has a strong ending I'll still find it to be an interesting story over all. At least that's what I'm hoping anyway.

I was surprised we got no information on the how and why behind the evil Dubilex clone.
