Amusing correlation between Croc Master (GI JOE: COBRA) and Ghost (Thunderbolts)

I've been on a G.I. Joe kick recently, what with G.I. Joe: Renegades and all that, and I was looking at the old G.I. Joe: COBRA II one-shot from IDW and noticed a pretty interesting resemblance between Croc Master from the G.I. Joe franchise and Ghost from Thunderbolts.

What do y'all think?

They could be relatives! Distant creepy cousins, perhaps? ...Or they must at least hang out with the same armorer.

If I remember correctly, the Croc Master figure from the 80s had a closer resemblance to Bane (or even KGBeast) from Batman than Ghost. Of course the Ghost of the 80s looked far different then too. The similarities now are striking.

Interesting how both characters have deteriorated physically with their newest incarnations (which don't resemble their old ones at all).

Thing is, Croc Master is a different person (different continuity entirely) while Ghost is supposedly the same guy for all these years.

And along the way, there was another a 2nd Croc Master - whose physical attributes looked like a mix of the first and the newest (had a similar face plate but big and bulkish) - so I think it could be argued that there's been a development toward the look of this newest CM.

Meanwhile, Ghost went from "generic Iron Man villain in big outfit" to "emaciated creep" with no real explanation.
